No, that means that Russ must have been smoking some bad stuff that day to say something like that.

For those that don't believe me with regards to the "5 years means you're a veteran", I did a search and got this thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....axManiac+axxis

Which revealed these comments from Russ:

Bill, I trust Loren's opinion over anyone else on this board, and Don's as well. They know the cars inside and out, and have done many many tests on them with different products. I will trust there efforts on what they find. They have been here as long as I have 5 yrs now, and when they say something I trust it. On the other hand there are people who have been here 3 yrs, that say things, like you just did, with no evidence except your opinion that said there complete junk. Only one person so far has said this per there experience. I have yet to see another.

Then a few days later, Russ hates the Deluxe pads:

Hmm I've been on the board since I got my 98GLE, so 39 months for me, lurking for the most part in the beginning. But anyways, around here, I think 3 months + 1 mod makes you a veteran. heh

Too many newbie newbies with basic questions makes me think 3 mos is enuff.

I've been here for about 4 years, but I'm still a veteran. I've helped lots of Maxima owners comparable to Daniel B. Martin. I remember when Maximamike, along with Jeff92se, Kaleb, myself, and others used to talk about turbo projects for the Max. That was back when I had my 89'. I still think Chad's (Deathwish) board was the best. so was Matt York's

Tell you what, YOU move it, then I'll be impressed. Until then, WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS ENTIRE THREAD HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT CHESTON ORIGINALLY POSTED?

I'll be happy to tell you.

The question evolved to "What is a mentor?" and "Who should be considered a mentor?"

Is it based on time?

Is it based on someone's knowledge?

Is it based on claiming to have knowledge?

Is is base on whether or not their member name is doug?
