Question about swapping 2K Engine in a 95?
I was considering the idea of putting a 2000 Maxima Engine in my 95.I just found a 2K engine in R.I.{Where I live} for only $1200 with under 10K miles on it.What I was wondering would this be a direct swap.I am sure I would need the 2K ECU and Intake manifold, what else would I need? And would the bolts line up properly or would it take modification.Theres nothing A matter with my engine that has 90K but I found this deal for only $1200 bucks I am not sure If I want to pass it up.Thanks in advance for any input.
dunno about the swap, but there's a 1999 maxima engine with 1000miles on ebay going for $1000. here's the link:

I think it would work >>>>>>>
just as you get the items that you said, whole engine, wiring harness, ecu, etc. Almost 99.99% sure that the 2000 engine should bolt in to the 95 engine mounts and transmission. Just to be sure you might want to call people from Jim Wolf Technologies and ask one of their engineers to be 100% sure. I say go for it, and please let us know if it works, because I know there are other people like me that would be interested in doing ght esame thing. Good Luck !!!!!!!

From my understanding, the 4th Gen and 5th Gen motors are the same. The ECU, exhaust and intakes are the main differences, so you wouldn't gain much without the intake manifold, which upon basic measurements and eyeballing wouldn't fit.

The intake manifold looks to be taller than the 4th Gen, so it probably wouldn't clear the hood.

Might as well slap on a SC while the baby is under the knife as well!
