I was considering the idea of putting a 2000 Maxima Engine in my 95.I just found a 2K engine in R.I.{Where I live} for only $1200 with under 10K miles on it.What I was wondering would this be a direct swap.I am sure I would need the 2K ECU and Intake manifold, what else would I need? And would the bolts line up properly or would it take modification.Theres nothing A matter with my engine that has 90K but I found this deal for only $1200 bucks I am not sure If I want to pass it up.Thanks in advance for any input.

I think it would work >>>>>>>

just as you get the items that you said, whole engine, wiring harness, ecu, etc. Almost 99.99% sure that the 2000 engine should bolt in to the 95 engine mounts and transmission. Just to be sure you might want to call people from Jim Wolf Technologies and ask one of their engineers to be 100% sure. I say go for it, and please let us know if it works, because I know there are other people like me that would be interested in doing ght esame thing. Good Luck !!!!!!!

Call some shops in your area and ask them. There are some guys out there that would help you with the swap just so they could say they have done it!!

Luck man, let us know how it goes!!!

Good deal on the engine...

I say go for it too. Just make sure the mounts line up. And the 'Lord' has given you his blessing.

The intake manifold looks to be taller than the 4th Gen, so it probably wouldn't clear the hood.

From my understanding, the 4th Gen and 5th Gen motors are the same. The ECU, exhaust and intakes are the main differences, so you wouldn't gain much without the intake manifold, which upon basic measurements and eyeballing wouldn't fit.

I guess that would be a good excuse to get a 'power bulge' in the hood. Might as well slap on a SC while the baby is under the knife as well!

Quit thread crapping, kiddo!

Besides, VQ is less than $1k.... (dunno about the 2k VQ being that cheap though)
