Installed the OSRAM HIDs...

Very simple install, all plug and play, only thing that will take time is mounting the ballasts in the engine that will kind of show them off in the bay. Once they were installed I fired up one side with an APC Superwhite in the otherside. The HID light made it look extremely dim. So that convinced me to put the other one in. They are extremely bright. High beams... who needs them? Everywhere I went, everything was lit up. Signs, roads, trees, everything. I drove around for about 2 hours last night and only got flashed once. I love the color when they warm up. They start off a purplish blue and go to a bright pure white light gradually(no blue at all). They match my PIAA H3s perfectly. My car looks all white from the front with the exception of my corners. I'd have to say I'm really impressed with the kit and recommend it to anyone wanting more light and true HIDs. Thanks Freddy (97gles)!

Would Acura HIDs fit good? My friend got them installed in his Benz and it dont seen to be so bright. It looks good but cant see the distance performance.

depends what HID system the Acuras utilize and what bulbs.

BTW, adjust those lights down, you can get pulled over for them being aimed too high and you definitely need to adjust them down from stock bulb settings.

Yeah, I noticed that a lot tonight. They are blinding at factory setting. I'm going to aim them down tomorrow. I kept getting flashed. Too bad I didn't get the Hi-Lo's so I could really show them my brights weren't on.

Use the long thread screw thingies nearest the corner lamp on each side to adjust high/low. I didn't get any waves from people thinking I'm blinding them tonight, tho I think I mighta went too low.

When screwing, screw towards the driver's side to aim it lower. Argh, hard to explain. That is, in front of the car, facing it, turn the screw to your right (which is driver's side) to aim it lower.

Question:

I have a 5th Gen., what happens when the alarm light blinks? Is this blinking of the HID bad? I would assume so. As I'm not "electronically inclined", I am not sure how this would be rewired, but I assume that it would be the solution that has been going around on the 5th Gen. forum.

waiting always sucks Freddie! Heh... Well, hey, they are as advertised, just like the real deal HIDs... I'm plenty happy... I just need to aim them the right height. First too high, now I think it's a lil' low.

You lose high beams.
Are there any aftermarket HID kits that have a high beam too?

Thanks.
Do you know anything about the HIDs with high beams?

Cost?
Are they good?
Any complaints about them?

took me a few times of just adjusting/driving... adjusting/driving... adjusting/driving to find the optimal height of where i wanted the lights to be... once you find that happy spot, when you get back into a car w/halogens, you'll want to pull the car over and determine why the lights are soooo dim!

Actually I did a search and I found out that there is no hi/lo for 9004 housings. So if I want HIDs I'll have to lose the high beams.

I'm going to try higher wattage bulbs and see how much I like them, otherwise I might be giving you a call.
Thanks for all the help.

don't spend your money on high wattage bulbs. they will never be as bright as the hid kit. the hid will last you longer. if you go over 75watts you might melt your harness.
