I beat the crap out of the car when I drive it. I baby her in the garage. I perform all maintenance on or ahead of schedule. 11 years old with 119K miles. The only parts to ever go bad are the O2 sensors and the knock sensor. The rest has been normal wear items.. tires, brakes, belts, muffler, oil... Oh and the volume **** on the Bose is starting to wear out.

I used to drive it really hard, but since I got my 240, I baby it and drive it like a grandpa.

But of course I still take it out to the track.....

....and back roads....

....and freeway on ramps...OK, OK, I drive it hard.

redlining 2nd-3rd is my favorite. then 3rd gear to 4th while driving at that intensity is great too.

sometimes i drive really slow shifting before 3k, trying to conserve gas.

most times i am dominating the road

I baby it as far as maintaining it appearance and mechanically, however I drive somewhat aggressively. With gas prices lately I've been driving pretty slow on the highway, leaving lots of distance and shifting at about 2K RPM. Every now and then I give it the beans though. It all evens out I guess, I get 22-23 MPG.

I look at my car as purely transportation... that isnt boring... and bland...

i shift at 2.5 to 3k... and i try to be smooth as well... i dont like shift shock of dumping the clutch too soon... .. maybe once a week.. i will WOT it.. just to make sure everything is in working order... im pretty sure that concept is all psychological.

i take corners easy... i hate squealing tires... thinking of the damage it might do to my suspension and wheel bearings.

i cruise on the hwy faster than traffic though... i try not to weave... only when i have to ...

my MPG is a consistant 25-26 Mixed driving. 2002 6 speed maxima. 127,000 miles

-------

BUT... i do have a sportbike... and thats where all my fun is at.
so i guess im allowed to drive my car like a granny.

mainly I drive mine like a race car for the most part, around town it goes something like 1st goes to red line then to 4th or 5th getting on the freeway it's 1st and 2nd red line then 5th
unless i'm driving grandma like then i skip the red line and shift around 4000 rpm or so depending on traffic, and always heel toe down shifts.

Get up to speed quick, drive 5-10 over. Only hammer it from a roll. Take corners like a drunken maniac. etc.

if im cruising with some of the guys i take it easy. a lot of them complain about my driving slow, im the one that gets caught at the lights, etc. id rather not "show off", its not my style.

when im alone late at night is when i drive spiritedly.

I drive my Maxima carefully, but hard when I need that rush. When I'm going around town, usually shift at 2-2.5k RPMs, and baby it. I still love the sound of my intake and muffler, so she sees 5-6k at least once a week. My new job has me utilizing public transportation a lot more so she sees less abuse now. The suspension and tires get used when I feel lively though, not pushing the limits however.

I gave up on saving gas by driving nice, I just try to limit my driving and get on it when I want.
Yea I have given up on gas mileage too... my worst worst worst in town tank was like 16mpg, in the winter; right now I'm getting about 18-19mpg. I do all in town driving, light to light basically to and from my gf's place within BK.

As far as my driving style, lately I've been trying to slow down... I usually shift around 3K, getting on it every now and then. I'll prob. be back to my old tricks when I get my axle fixed.

i have two diff. styles, if im by myself going to work im all on it like a bat out of hell. speedin, takin corners fast and hard. i like this little back road called weakly in smyrna i take the corners in second with car at like 4500-5000 and it sounds awesome
*but if me and my boys are out i drive slow and calm with the system houndin
if i can keeep my foot out of it i get like 20-22 mpg city, no highway though, no long trips

Most days I drive her in a "spirited" fashion, but never really "hard". I drive 50 miles to work and usually have the cruise on, set at 70, the whole way. I am seeing 21MPG which is great for a 3rd gen.

I like to press all the pedals hard. Cross drilled/slotted rotors are fun... and I like to go fast in the turns now. Used to be a 1/4 mile guy, but I'm seeing the light. Gas mileage is CRAP now 10-12 maybe... i get like 200 miles maybe to a tank, but the bad 02 sensor and wheel bearings probably have something to do with it.

I have progressively calmed down since I first got it. It still generally sees redline daily but only once or twice. Otherwise I'll shift at about 2k and give light throttle. Love taking those corners though, no one can believe how hard the car turns.

Kissed the limiter in first right before I parked it tonight though. Some jackass taxi looked like they were lining up to take the spot I was eyeing.
