I'd really like to rid some of the play in the motor mounts of the VQ. It can be quite annoying with all that slack in the drivetrain. Does anyone make inserts yet or am I going to have to resort to buying some of that liquid rubber stuff and applying it to the mounts?

Talk to Energy Suspension.

Cattman talked about them a year or so ago, but it was rejected out of hand as being "too much of a compromise."

Although having ridden in SE-Rs with ES motor mounts, I think it's well worth it.

So, shoot an e-mail to Brian Catts as well.

Below is a link to how you get urethane engine mounts for $20. I have done this to my max and it helps alot! It almost eliminated wheelhop and made the car more responsive. The only bad thing is that when/if the engine has a miss in it you will feel it. Also the gas pedal will and steering wheel will have a bit more vibration. But its nothing annoying at all, just something you notice. BTW my SE-R has the ES engine mounts so it transmits slightly more vibrations to the cabin. You should also do your tranny mounts at the sametime or the next weekend. Just refer to your FSM or repair manual for instructions on engine/tranny mount removal.

Is this a bad thing? If your car has a miss, and you feel it, then you can find out why.

Make sense?

The PR's are not bad. I don't know what people are talking about whenever they say that. Ya, there's a little more vibration. Big deal. Basically the same as Nismo said, you feel it a little more in the pedal and steering wheel but not at all annoying. To each his own I guess, but for me, the Place Racing mount are the way to go.
