when it comes down to owning a maxima, if i got rich then yea i would always own a maxima, sh*t id modify my 4th gen to be RWD and buy another and make it AWD, i might even put an 13" lift on one with some massive tires on it give a new meaning to "wheel gap", but otherwise no.

As much as i do like the maxima, there are other cars that can do the maximas job better, not the same way the max does it but certainly better. and then there are just other cars out there that are just better. for as much money as i can spend on a brand new max, i would rather go buy a used M35x or G35x. The limitations of FWD is what really kills it for the maxima.

The better question to ask here is will u always own a Nissan. my answer to that would probably be yes, not exactly Nissan, but Infiniti has stepped up their game and for the amount of money u are paying compared to its competitors, u are getting a pretty damn good deal. the Ms and the FXs do it for me

Owned an '89 SE and use my '95 SE as a daily driver with 210K miles on it. My wife has an Infiniti QX4, mom has a '98 SE and an '03 350Z Touring. It seems like we'll always be a Nissan family, but I am passing my Maxima down to my niece in college for an M45 Sport.

i love my car. within a few years im gonna have a SC VQ35 4th gen. I will probably stop modding it at 350-400 WHP with a sexy paint job and lip kit.

I have other cars that I want to mod after this one, my next car will be either RWD or AWD...but I honestly doubt I will ever sell or de-mod the max. It will always be my first car and Ive put way too much time and money into it to sell it. I will still have the max even when stations stop selling gas

Here's my little story, I used to hate driving untill I got my Maxima and again like when I was 17 I absoultly love driving and this car is the reason. I fell in love with Nissan they make a great automobile you can't beat the reliability and power of the VQ. So my fiance's car just crapped out on her (dodge) so we searched for any Nissan for her we started at the dealer and she couldn't get aproved so we looked on and finaly found this real nice 05 Altima which I really liked. She couldn't get aproved but I liked this car so much that I just said eff it and put it in my name, if it was any other car I deffinatly wouldn't have risked my credit. So just under $12k later we added another Nissan to the family. I think I'm more excited than her I've allready started thinking about what I'm gonna do to it and its not really mine. So yes I firmly believe that I will stay with Nissan unless I become rich and even then I'd just get a GTR.

My first car was a 96 5spd. I bought it in april of 03 for $3800 w/ 117k on the clock. I loved that car to death. Then when I went off to college, I had to 'sell' it to my younger brother b/c my parents wouldn't let me have a car in college for my first two years. It now has 160k on it. Then spring semester of my sophomore year, I was looking for another one. Then I found my 01 AE 5spd w/ 68k on it. I've been driving it ever since.
Although, I will say that I don't think I'll own another maxima, or possibly even a nissan. Once I graduate, I'm going to get a 4cyl car as my dd, as I will probably be doing a lot of driving. I'll keep my AE though, it's been just as good of a car as my 96 is.

I love my Maxima (my second), but I doubt I'll own one forever. 5th and 6th gens don't do much for me looks wise, and the 7th gen being auto-only means I won't be buying that one either. And after owning my 4th gen for about 4 1/2 years, I guess I'm just ready for a change.

My girlfriend has taken over the Max for daily-driving duties, and I'm looking at either a G35 or BMW 5-series for a new DD.

I'll be moving on to either a 3-series or a G37 in a couple years, depending on whether or not either of them is completely butchered by then....

I absolutely love my maxima, but I know there are much better cars out there...

Sigh, I'll never sell my 5-spd '95 GXE. Too much blood sweat and tears. Of course if I ever have enough money, I wouldn't say no to the R8 either...I just won't get rid of the max.

It's my daily driver, my first car, and there would be no point in selling it if it still gives me pleasure, it's not worth much with 160,000, but viscerally it's priceless to me.

I guess it depends on how many low mileage 6 speed 5.5 gen Maximas that are out there when it is time to replace my current '02 Maxima.

Otherwise I would probably go with a 6 speed VQ35 Altima coupe or *gasp* an '08 Cobalt SS. Don't laugh, it embarrasses cars that cost 3 times as much on road courses and ran a 13.9 @ 104 in Road and Track.

the 08s must be considerably faster than previous generations, cause my friend has a 5 speed 4th gen with i/y/e, and he rapes SS cobalts consistently

The '07 and older have a supercharged 205 hp engine, the new ones have a 260 hp turbocharged engine. 70 mph through Motor Trend's slalom, .92gs on the skidpad. In the new issue of Road and Track, it had a better lap time around VIR (Virginia International Raceway) than the new EVO, WRX, Lexus IS-F, Audi S5, G37, Challenger SRT8, Honda S2000 and Lotus Elise SC. The cheapest car that finished ahead of it was the Corvette. All for $23,000 pretty much loaded. Too bad it doesn't look all that great while the Altima coupe is sex on wheels.

Highly unlikely I will own another Maxima. I always like variety, I really like a lot of cars and appreciate them for what they are. I am not really brand loyal to anything, there are plenty of cars from just about every automaker I love, Asian, American, or European.

I absolutely love my Maxima, in fact I would like to always keep it as long as reasonably possible, but I probably wouldn't buy another one.

I have owned quite a few vehicles, ranging from a 1989 B12 Sentra Sport Coupe 1.6, to a 1989 VW Golf 1.8 to a 1996 Ford Taurus LX and have loved each and every single one of them, but I must say there are two cars I have absolutely loved and always wanted to own.

1.) A fully loaded 4.5gen Maxima, which I just bought less than a year ago finally and I absolutely love my baby. It will be a sad day when I have to get rid of this car I love it so much.

2.) A B6 Audi S4.

There are a lot of cars I have liked and my tastes change, but for years and years I dreamt about owning the Maxima, and since 2004 when it came out, I have dreamt about owning the Audi S4 as well, so I must say, in 4 years or so, that will probably be my next car.

I probably alway own a Maxima. I love my AE! I would probably get another Sterling Mist 01 SE 5spd and mod the hell outta it! Although the infiniti M is nice!

I agree with you on that one, I really wouldn't mind an M45 Sport either. Automatic only is a turnoff for me though. Other than that, it is an amazing car.

Agree with you man. I have 98 GXE and plan to keep it. Want to get second car, which will be 02/03 Maxima or a BMW. After fifth generation Maximas are ugly and way pricey.

Man I'm new. Well sorta. I joined and never really started using my account until very very recently. I must apologize for not logging in and meeting other max owners. I love my Maxima. By the way it's a 97 GLE pearl white, bought in 02 with 60k. 100k later, the max is still running like a CHAMP!! I should probably post pics too. The only reason I own a GLE is because the 97 Forest Green SE I bought in 2000 was totaled to smithereens. That sucked but this one made me happy. I have been looking at 5th gens. I like them a lot but I don't like the 6th or 7th. They're something that doesn't sit well with me about those two. Anyway if I get another max, it won't involve me getting rid of my 4th gen. I'll just pay more insurance!!!!

No unfortunately. Had a 2000 SE, and a 1995 GXE. The '95 was the best car I have ever owned, however I can't say the same for the '00, which may have been the worse.

Currently have a 2008 G35xs. I like that the '09 maxima's have 290hp, but I don't want another fwd car.

I can't imagine someone driving away with my max. When I can, I know it will be time to part ways. Can't see that happening until I have something like an all electric or hybrid R8 or 911 sitting in my driveway.
