I was just wondering if you have a 8000k kit and you would like to switch your bulb color to lets say 6000k, do you need whole new kit or just the 6000k bulbs ?

Agreed. Just the bulbs. 4300k is best IMO.

FYI the lower the color temp the higher the light output if that influences your choice decision...
