2008-30K Service: Do/Should I get/Need?

OK org, here goes. I am approaching 30K and was wondering if i should get the suggested 30K service? Why or Why Not. Car is running fine, only thing wrong (rotten egg smell, I am working on that)

I dont need the oil change b/c i go to a Kwik Lube her in Htown and pay the guys under the table for Synthetic blend, with filter, air in tires, the woks, LOL. What do you guys think, Yay, Nah? Not sure on price so was just wondering is it is beneficial.

Thanks in advance?

At 30K, definitely do the required maintenance for your car as recommended and for warranty sake. But depends on exactly what you want to do. I bought my 08 Max SE brand new and have been doing the premium expensive schedule in the maintainance manual. The premium service at 30 is about 500 bucks! I know I don't want to pay that and do not need that. You know what makes it that expensive, right? The flush and replacing the expensive CVT fluid. The car is brand new, the fluid is expensive and should last a lot of miles. I will not do that service! I will do the oil change, balance and rotate tires, top fluids and change wiper blades. All this costs about 120 or less. And this time, I am starting to use full synthetic in my car. I will use M1 EP. I think the blend you are using is a waste of money. Go with full synthetic or stay with conventional oil. I am in Houston, PM me if you want to know where I do my service. I go to the dealership.

Well looked over the premium service and deduced that the only thing i need is the tranny flush and the radiator flush to stay with in warranty guidelines. The rest of the stuff I can do myself (they charge like 100 for in cabin air filter/change for air filter another 60-8, LOL) I do understand your point, I got my car with 15k on it and it was certified pre-owned, but god knows how the first 15k was taken care of, ps my oil changes only cost 30 bucks, i can probably up to full synthetic for about 10 more bucks. I am about do for another, let me know which dealer you use. I was going to go to baker-jackson off of i10/610. Thanks for the advice

At 30k, as new as our vehicles are, personally, I will not do CVT and radiator flush. CVT flush is very expensive and very durable, hence, I will do that only at 60K, not now. Too early for me. Even the radiator. Should last atleast 60k before I will change. I bought my Mobil 1 Extended Performance synthetic oil and filter on sale at Advance auto parts. I have talked to Baker J. off 610 and Kirby, where I do all my oil change at, and they say they will charge me just 13 bucks for labor for the oil change. I told them I would buy my air filter and cabin filter to bring along. They said air filter will be changed for free, but the labor to change the cabin will be 49.99. I said to myself forget it. I will do it myself. So, for my 30K service I am going to Baker J. for my oil change and have them rotate and balance my tires ( this cost about 45). That is it. What will you do? Will you switch to full syn?

Oh, I forgot to tell you. I did my 15k service at Robbins Nissan, where I bought my car from, because they did it cheaper than the other dealers. Then at 23K, I got my rotors resurfaced for FREE at David McDavid Nissan after I convinced them my warranty should cover it. For my 30K service, I will buy my cabin filter and air filter and do it myself. Also, do change your wiper blades and go with the 09. I have the 09 wiper blades, got them when I did my 15K service. Now, at 30, I am going with the Bosch blades, they perform and look better. What tires are on your car now? Stock goodyear RS-A? I am glad I am getting 30k out of mine. But will be getting new tires soon GoodYear Eagle GT. Tip for tires; get a lifetime balance and rotation from Discount T. for only about 45 bucks. The get lifetime alignment from firestone at 139.99 plus tax. That is what I am doing after my 30K service. Look into it.

Well the books says CVT oil change is due at 30k, I only plan to do the trans/rad. I figured to do these at intervials of 30k nto 60k. I got this idea from the other forum and one of the moderators there that works for nissan. I also like the idea of doing it at 30k, idk it just makes me feel better, lol. Alsothe baker Jackson i spoke to was the one on Kirby (I am new in htown, still figuring it out) the incabin filter is easy, look at chernmax diy video, its spot on. I have done it already(just remember to use the scredriver to pull out the door tabs. I changed my rims to 19" m45 sport rims and i kept the goodyear RSA's, i like ithe tires, not many people do though, lol

Also, the guy at baker told me the cost of the cvt oil change is about 200, i might be wrong though, i left that exact number at work. I am still on the fence about going to full synthetic, but it will only cost 5 buck more. remember i have my under the table deal going, hahaha

Men, how do you guys get all these rims off the infinitis? Where did you get yours from and how much did you pay for them? You say they are 19s, how come you still have your 18 RS-A tires. Or do you mean the tires that came on the 19 rims. In our recommended schedule, the minimum to maintain warranty at 30 is oil change, filter change and balance and rotate tires. The premium service requires you to do the radiator flush and CVT flush. Our cars just have 30K. There is no way I will change mine now. Besides, you are right about the change costing 200 for the CVT change. Then radiator about 150 or so. Men! I am sooo not doing that. Those fluids are still good till 60K or more. But if you have the money, always do premium service, men. I will pass on that for now. The fluids are expensive because they are durable. I will keep mine till 60K. Get better set of wiper blades if you haven't. Get 09 or Bosch!

i found my rims on craigslist, got a steal $400 wiht tires, mind you these goes for at least 1k so i got lucky. The tires on the rims were too large so i bought 19" tires that were the RSA's (sorry for the confusion) I understand what you mean about the cost, its does cost a lot, i will just have to wait on the other toys for the car, lol. I will look at the bosch wipers, did you get them at the dealer or autozone or other store. did you do any mods on your car yet? i have avic d3, 12w7 cusom molded, 3 amps (JL 300/4, 300/2 and audiobah 1200 amp) Image dynamics comps in the 4 doors and beyma midbass in the rear deck. Do not do blend. Ask around, it is a waste. Go full synthetic or stay conventional. If you are getting your deal, let me know how much it costs for everything and what oil do you use? If its good, I wonder if you can hook me up! If not, I will stick with my deal at Baker; I bring my M1 EP with M1 EP filter and I pay just 13 for labor. And remember, look at the manual. At 30K, you have 2 service to choose from. The premium that is expensive and involves the CVT and radiator flush. The regular service is just oil change and tire balance and rotation. I will stick with the cheaper one. Hey, where is the link to the diy video by chernmax? Always call other dealers before going for a service. I think Baker is expensive. I call all 4 dealerships I know to get the best quote for same service before going over. See if that helps. When do you think you will be getting new tires? How many miles you got on these?

I am due for an oil change soon, so when i go, i will see how much the guy will charge for full synthetic(i think 40 will cover it). They use penzoil where i go. I will definite get u the hook up as well not to worry. I am not sure where the diy was but do a search for incabin filter video. let me know which dealer you use as well.

I see you have really done some mods. Go to my Album and see my pics of my car. No mods yet, but I have some in mind. I will have a hard time for I want my car to standout, so, it will cost me. I will take my time, though. I often go to Baker, because it is the closest from Pearland, where I live. But I usually call all 4 dealers when it is major service or if I need to get different opinions. Just what I like to do. Most people do not like to do that. Oh, I see you use penzoil. I don't like that oil. I think it is very cheap. Then you should go with its full synthetic. I hear its good in the Max and you can tell too. I will do Mobil for now. I will start checking on craigslist too, men. I need me some infinitis rims for the kinda deal you got, men. Let me know if you find another set. Setup your profile and upload pics, or set up a cardomain page. Don't forget the wiper blades, makes a difference, CLEAR!

I will definitely let you know if i come accross some rims. one other thing, if you read the post, where i am talking about that weird rotten egg smell, well i felt like the smell got into the fabric, so me and my girl decide to go put some arm n hammer carpet fresh (the one u vaccume up) about an hour ago. get this my entire passanger side floor in the rear is wet, soaking wet, i drive straight to a mechanic here in town (one i trust of course) turns out the evap hose that lets out the condensation from the ac is clogged, gonna take it in to him monday. I vaccummed all the water out i can, but man i was worried, he quoted about 50 to fix. I am gonna try and findt that hose. crazy huh

Hey men, sorry to hear that. So, that was the problem with the smell thing? Where did you get your Max from? I wonder if the car had that problem when you bought it. Glad it can be fixed for just 50. You car need to sit in the sun to dry up, lol and you need some good stuff to restore your car smell. Keep your out in the sun, all glasses rolled down and all doors adn trunk open. I don't know the best air freshners out there, but me and my wife got something from Bed Bath and Beyond (yeah, I said that, great CAR air freshner from BBB) and it smells really good. My car still maintains its brand new scent. What part of town are you on? What about you mechanic?

I am not sure that was the cause of the smell, but will find out on monday. no one hardly ever rides in the back so idk how long that was going on. I got the car last year July from clear lake nissan. I am gonna get this fixed on monday and give it a couple of weeks to figure out if that was the cause of the smell, i am also gonna use Kilma Kleen its an antibacterial/mold cleaner for the ac/evap. I live in Midtown and the mechanics name is mark from downtown automotive, off of montrose and fairview, he is super busy so i have to leave the car for him on monday. i will let you know how this turns out. also i think this ac thing is recent.
