http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/info/bulbs/HID/conversion/
Info on the nhtsa as well at the site.
People with 2002 lights or cars do not have to worry about this really.

Doesnt everyone who has a HID conversion kit already know that because the housing is a certain design, the focus on the lights are going to be off?? Also, theres no safety issue because the HID's are crazy bright. If you need to flash someone..just flash em with your HID's...most of em come with a 5 year warranty anyway..lol

I have always thought that dude just expresses his own views and pushes them hard on others... I mean I agree with some stuff, but his last line:
For some cars, legitimate HID retrofit kits are available. These consist of complete new headlamp lens-reflector units to go with HID capsules and ballasts. This is the *ONLY* safe and proper way to put HID headlamps on a car not originally so equipped.
is after 13 paragraphs arguing against HID. He could have summed it up in like 2 paragraphs. :P
Oh well, I'm still happy with my HID kit.
