You want an Amsoil Eaa or EaaU filter. PM talkinghorse for more details

Well you can't argue with the kevlo, but I heard Apexi Dryflows are good too, am I right or wrong?

K&N won't do any harm as long as you don't go crazy oiling it.

The Amsoil, I'm sure, is of a much higher standard of quality than the APC ones they sell at Autozone/Advanced.

The only time you'd really need to worry about the APC filters is if you're running FI. One of the kids I know who works at Advanced told me he had the inner cone get sucked into the turbo on his Talon.

If you're running NA, I don't see why they'd be a problem, though. So long as you maintain them.

The Amsoil filter is one of the best ones out, I do not see how you can compare it to anything at Autozone.

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

How does ANY of that seem like Autozone stuff?

Kevlo, are those dry flow, or do they need oil?

I may look into one once pollen season hits.

yes this can be true, if you dont let the oil get fully absorbed by the fabric it can damage your maf, look at the web site that was posted 2 replies ago that filter looks nice, i was looking at it thinking about getting it since its about 35 bucks and no oil hassels

I am interested in this topic too, especially since I have an el-cheapo eBay filter on my intake right now. But are any of these claims of the best filter, apexi vs. amsoil vs K&N vs AEM etc, verifiable with true empirical evidence? I am not saying this to be a d!ck but, b/c I am curious to see some sort of a comparison.

As far as I know, AEM and Amsoil are some of the best. I am partial to amsoil since I have a great distributor (talkinghorse is his member name on the org). If you can find my oil analysis thread, the K&N filter let in WAY TOO MUCH DIRT/silicon into my engine. The Amsoil filter took care of it.
