Juiced Boost

Well Cumalot and I went for a little spin tonight and I tried out my nitrous on top of my 8.5psi. It was only 25hp, on a window switch from ~4300-5800rpms. You could certainly feel it in second gear, not so much in third, but it was their. Plugs looked good after the runs also. EGTS in a second and third gear blasts never got above 700c!!!

The quaife also helps allot, even with the nitrous I have perfect traction in second gear, used to I would spin through just on boost. However first does spin with a bit of that drift to the left that FWD cars get, no biggie though. The quaife makes it much easier to modulate the launch.

Got a purge valve going also. COOL!!!

I am heading to the track tomorrow for some hard core Maxima abuse. Their is an import meet, track events and car show too. I am bringing 30, 35, & 40hp jets with me also. I have a previous best of 13.6 @ 102 with 2.1 60's before the Quaife and nitrous, so I am hoping for a VERY low 13 or with a good tail wind mabye a 12.999

Thanks to Phil for helping me with the adding the nitrous to the SC.

Thanks again to Eric for his help with the Quaife install.

Thanks to Thomas for the decals. The Honda boys are gonna love the Infinity pac man on my back windshield.

Matt, kick some a$$ for me tomorrow! Hope you break the 12 seconds barrier!

Btw, on a side note, I think I maxed out at 9psi with the 3.125 pulley. 10psi my a$$!

He's going to run at the Hattiesburg track. There's a track here, but it's located in Baton Rouge. Where in New Orleans do you live?

Nice! Good luck at the track Matt!

Mike... you max at 9 psi? I can get 10 psi with an early 6000-6300 shift. Here's the proof:

http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~chin/...ie/01Oct30.mpg

I'm going up a slight incline... started at about 48 mph and ended near the end of 3rd gear.

Don't hate.

Yes, but your tranny is fine, right? I can't say the same about mine.

Problems always seem to pop up once I get one problem fixed. This is starting to **** me off.

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have got the SC. I should have sell off my mods and trade the car in.

It was a crappy day at the track.

Best of 13.714 @ 105.408 2.138 60' w/ a 35hp shot

High ET but check out that MPH

First off for some freakin reason they were running a pro tree, WTF??? This really threw me and every one else off. It made the launches very rushed.

It rained early on and the sun never came out so the track was cold. They did they jet dryer but it didnt help too much. All of the serious racers were complaining about the track.

For the first half of all my passes I had on of the coil packs bairly plugged it. I noticed it was ideling bad, but blew it off. After I did my first run witht the nitrous I pulled out the plugs and thats when I found the harness connector loose I guess low 14's on 5 1/2 cylinders aint too bad.

I did spank a stock WS6 TA twice, boy was he ****ed , his best was a 13.9, so you know the track was slow. I chewed up a few Mustangs also, one stock 270hp 01' GT and a '00 w/MAC CAI. Their were alot of Hondas their the only one that got me was an NSX running low 13's. Their was a 300ZX TT that runs mid 12's but could only muster low 13's due to the crappy track condition and a Supra running low 13's also.

With the 35hp shot of nitrous my EGTs only went up to 720c, very low. 700c w/o nitrous. I have seen 800c when I was just running the 100shot. I had put in NGK BKR7E plugs wich are two steps colder. I think they were too cold and resulted in allot of lost power. So I need to due some more tuning. I had it on a window switch from 4300-5800rpms.

The quaife did seem to help out with the launches, but the pro tree really screwed me up. You dont really get a rythm like with the standard tree. Nor is it easy to get to proper launch rpms in the 1.2 seconds a pro tree gives you from the last stage light. With this and the weather conditions I dont think this was a fair test of the ability of the quaife compared to my last trip to the track. That WS6 TA I beat could only pull 2.2 60's and the two Mustangs I beat could not do any better. With that as a referance though, I think the quaife did quite a good job helping me with my launches.

No 12.999 this time, but look out next time!

Sorry to hear about the bad times. If I went, I would suck even more. Then again, my car has problems.

Sucks when the tracks not up to par. When are they closing your local track for the season? Ours closes for a few weeks and opens again in the new year.

Those SP5000s working out well for you? I got the Dunlop D60 A2 on my stock wheels and they seem to be fairly good for all season tires. Im thinking about going to BFgoodrich g-Force T/A kd's for the track though. They wear a little too fast for the street
