Recommended floor jacks?

I'm tired of using the jack that came with my 4th gen. I got some old, steel stands, just need to get a proper jack. Recommendations?

Something like this a good buy?

yeah, should be fine.
my harbor freight jack has been working for about 7-8 years, and we have needed to replace it for a couple. I never work under it, so it isn't too bad.

If you don't mind spending a little more and you have a Northern Tool nearby, the Arcan xl35 is very nice. "68 of 68(100%)would recommend this product to a friend". I've haven't had this one for very long, but it's looks and feels much better than the HF stuff, has dual pump pistons for quicker lifting, and is a 3 1/2 ton (not that you would need it). IMHO with the lawsuits flying and people jumping ship at HF corporate, HF wont be around much longer.

Hey, thanks for the post crackhead. I took a look at northern, but all I saw was way out of my price range.

The only one that works for me is the Craftsman Aluminum low-profile jack. Being lowered with the Stillen lip nothing else really fits under there and the price is decent

I hear that. I've been saving for my 3.5 swap for a while now and a new jack was on my list. The xl35 was the one I settled on after doing my own research. The $30-40 kobalt jack I got from lowes lasted a couple years, but recently it has trouble getting my car up and keeping it up long enough to get jack stands in position.

I find it interesting that the HF hydraulic jacks are American made (sells mainly cheap China stuff) and as far as I have seen so far, the Craftsman hydraulic jacks (Sears I thought sold mainly American made stuff) are made in China. Food for thought. Not really trying to make a point, cause everything is made in China. Even my expensive leather work boots .

I'd grab the 3.5ton jack Costco sells, I think it's $70 or $80. Last I checked they had Arcan brand.

I' ve got 3 different Craftsman floor jacks in the garage that I've had for 10+ years and they all fit under my 08'. I'm not lowered.

If it's just for around the garage, I'd buy a cheap 3 ton jack. I bought mine at Pep Boys like 10 years ago and it's still going. I know a few guys that use the 4000lb HF aluminum jacks at the race track. They're pretty decent too. Stay away from the $59 aluminum HF jack.

Don't seem to stand up nearly as well as the 4000lb jack shown above. I've seen a few falling apart after one season at the track.

The damn Maxima trunk jack ripped my AC joint in my shoulder up 6 months ago and it's still healing.

Also, they collapse on people! Good call getting a floor jack.

Thats good I just got a autozone jack and some Craftman Jack Stands does the trick but would rather have that since it lifts up to 20 inches!!

I picked up the Aluminum one from harbor freight couple weeks ago and some 2 ton stands that were on sale, so far no problems or leaks.
