I hit a buck fi'ddy in a (get this) stock 92 SE 5sp. My needle was farther than sprintmax's. The reason he only claims (and is correct in only claiming) 150 is that speedos generally get wildly optimistic at those speeds. The way to gauge your speed is to figure out what your speed is by the tachometer and the gear ratio. I know that my car does 2450 RPM at 60 MPH in fifth (and the speedo is pretty accurate there) and when I did my top speed thing I hit 6300 in fifth. By my calculations 60/2450 = .0245 mph per rpm and x 6300 = 154 MPH.

I did the same thing, the needle was buried in my stock 96 SE with 2 of my buddies in the car, I would say about 150MPH-160MPH since the needle was reading at about there if the speedo went up that high, a freaking sentra ser from like 92 the speedo goes to 150-160 something like that but a maxima does not ? WTF?

BTW I didn't really think it was all that scary. Fast as **** but not really scary, scared the **** out of my friend in the back seat, laughed my a$$ off at him when he said "there's a cavalier up... back there"

Sorry Micah..i guess all the new guys have to ride with baggs.We all had fun. I think Baggs needs to keep some of the audio this time to hear him talking to his car and ESPECIALLY when carl is filming the speedo then looks up and sees the cop.

Cant wait to do it again!! I need to get a video camera for my car!! that way my girlfriend will have something to do next time instead of just sitting there.

Actually, believe it or not, I felt safer with him than I probably would have with anyone else; you and Ramius are young and thus not as experienced (no offense!), and D_98SE has a stock Max, even if he can drive great. I figured I was as safe with Bags as with anyone.

Yeah, we definitely need to keep some audio on this one. Some of the **** Bags and Carl say is just too dam* funny.

Hey man I know how you feel...like about a year ago I was like boy going 130 or 140 is stupid and must be a rush...well after my friend took me for a ride a few times in his max and was hitting 140 or so like nothing I was like wow and couldnt sleep for days...after that I got used to it with others...I have still yet to do over 110 but this summer I am going all out and not worying about po-pos as much...

You want your tire pressures to be high, not low. Also, since our car is light in the rear, I tend to run my rear tires lower. I run 36 psi in the fronts and 30 psi in the rear.

Most tires specify a maximum psi of 44. Remember that is the psi when cold. Make sure your brakes are in good shape, too.

I live right by 285, go to S. Poly. I also recieved a ticket last week doing 94mph on 75 Southbound. He got me by patrol car. ( Good thing he didnt clock me he would have haad me at 110-115 before i saw him in my rear view and slammed on my brakes slowing down to about 70mph when he caught up with me. Next time all the MAx's get out and cause trouble ill join u.. I go 120-130 almost everyday. My best is 143 (guessing) with the needle buried. All my friends tell me im a crazy driver. Oh well WE only live once RIGHT!!! I have the greyish max with altezzas, monsoons and lowered with ground control. oh yeah black *** tint also.
