CKPS (POS) Question:
I have this posted in the 4th gen forum as well but thought i might get more feedback and possibly an answer if i posted here:
when the crank sensors are unplugged the engine will crank evenly and smooth. once i plug the sensors back in, it will crank rough but not start. we have tested every wire in the engine bay and found a fault but i cant seem to figure out what exactly is going on. even if i jump the wire between the 2 signals, there is no continuity in the wire. How can there be no continuity in the wire if i am getting signals from both ends!????!?!??!?!?

bump, anyone in the general discussion know why this would happen or can give any advice on what is going on there? and how i can get my 4th gen running again?
the only thing i havent done is check the flywheel or r & r the tranny and for that money i can get a slightly beat up but stong running 97.
i have 5 days left to figure this out and if there is a failure to launch, shes going to be taken apart and sent to the scrapyard

swapped all 3 sensors with brand new one. same result
i have been thinkin lately and am almost positive it is still a grounding issue. i have been reading posts alllll day today. i have read threads saying to add ground wires in the past and did add some to my car, but i dont think it was enough. i want to try adding one from the starter to the bottom of the bell housing and double check the battery ground because i didnt look at the entire cable.
im going to put another gound wire to a bolt on the bellhousing, clean the paint/coating on off all the tranny bolts, add dielectric grease to all the bolts and re-torque the tranny bolts. this should completely take care of all grounding issues.
i have faith from this thread, my symptoms are identical: http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...verything.html and look forward to posting some results monday nite.
