This is what i found on goggle.

http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2007/0029336.html

About half way down the page. Would you want paper towels next to the engine. Screams fire hazard to me. If you have a leak, then fix it.

b- The oil absorbent material 1 A is made out of a lightweight material being able to absorb oil such as: cotton towels, paper towels, fabric, natural or artificial fiber or the like. The dimensions of the absorbent material 1 A are modifiable and may be approximately the same than the oil absorbent holder 2 R. The preferred embodiment uses one paper towel on top and another paper towel at the bottom. Between the paper towels there are three cotton towels. In this embodiment it is used paper towels and cotton towels having approximately these dimensions: 11″×10.4″ (279 mm.×264 mm.) The number of paper towels or cotton towels is modifiable. The oil absorbent material 1 A is packed inside the oil absorbent holder 2 R. Staples 8 T are placed around de pack to close and to hold tight the sides of the oil absorbent holder 2 R with the oil absorbent material 1 A inside.

Saves money on gaskets? Not when your engine or tranny is running dry and overheating! Say bye bye to that diaper!

This fixes absolutely nothing. Sure it keeps a few drops of oil from soaking the ground but your car is still going to leak. The gaskets are still cracking and are still going to give out if not replaced. This idea is just ludicrous. Just save the money and fix the gaskets on the car like you should in the first place. IMO.

I have very little mechanic skills and have not had any schooling in mechanics. I was still able to manage to replace my own valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gaskets and oil pan gaskets with a simple set of socket drivers and a few hours of my time.

Saves the environment? How? You still throw it in a land fill, and it promotes wasting fluids.

^LOL

What happens when baby needs a diaper change? Make an oily mess wringing out the foam? Spend another $30? Not exactly a great product idea. Most people who drive have money to maintain their cars and FIX problems.

They sell the same type of thing in a blanket form at SummitRacing...it goes on your driveway, under your car.

But I really doubt that people in the getto give a damn if the car leaks oil all over the street.

seems like a lazy mans fix to a problem that can come to bite you in the butt for ignoring.
