I just got my 2000 SE 5-speed with 215k on the body and a 80k motor out of the shop, I had the newer engine installed, new clutch, coil packs, plugs and axles put in. and in the first gear only, right around 1500rpms the engine will surg, the rpms will jump up and down and sometimes it will chirp my tires in mid acceleration. it doesnt happen every time either. its inconsistant. It almost seems like if you let out the clutch to quick and it grabs...anyone have ideas?

Manual cars will do that. Car lurches forward> you move back in seat> foot comes off gas pedal> car decels> you move forward in seat> foot presses gas pedal> car lurches forward> repeat.

You gotta be smooth.

I know how to drive a stick. thanks though ****. its mid throttle, after shifting into gear and taking off it can be full throttle or slight throttle.
