Stay away from the IS...pos imo
I drove my friends c230K and almost bought it instead of my S-Type
I never liked BMW's

I hate the Altima's tails.
Max is real nice...
Subaru...50/50...nothing bad nothing special...

I am sure you'll like any of them...

Hands Down.

The 2002 Altima doesn't do it for me. The interior is cheap.

Lexus Is300 is a sweet ride, but it is kind of a small car. If you don't mind the size then I would get the IS300. It has the Lexus name on it and it pulls pretty good. Interior is very sweet too.

The BMW. that is your own taste. Personally I would pick a Maxima over a 3-series BMW.

Benz is a very nice ride, but you are going for straight luxury if you get that car not performance.

Impreza ...

If you like handling, nothing beats RWD. Both the 330i and Is300 handle great. Super easy to autocross, but both aren't really up to the task of hauling four people around. But it all depends how much you want to spend. Similarly equipped, the cars have a price spread of approx $10k (330i being the most expensive).

The Subaru is fast and has AWD, but the ride is very stiff and the interior isn't very classy. The Maxima, well we all know what a Maxima is like. Altima will ride better than the Maxima, and possibly handle better due to IRS.

How fast is that car? Maybe I was wrong when I said you will only get luxury.

If you have the $$$ the car can have around 350hp...

Stock is quick, but nothing fantastic...
This car is far from MB usual luxury...it is a bit of both.

The Max is nice.
The Altima interior is too cheesy
The WRX is fantastic but too small
The MB sucks
The IS300 is not worth the money

Get the 330. That car is fantastic. 0-60 in 6.2s and you'll toast most cars in terms of handling. Also the best status symbol.

Re: I want your opinions!

IMHO --- 2002 maxima se-6spd

Why?

Overall, for price, quality, luxury, great VQ engine, etc. I think the Maxima is a great deal.

Other cars listed are good cars too. But, I don't think they match the Maxima in the "most bang for the buck" category.

I agree.

If money was not an issue I whould quite possibly buy a 330. I have never driven one so I can't really say if I whould buy one or not.

330ci... I would spend a lot of time telling you why, but just drive one, you'll see.

The benz I really like and Iam leaning towards getting that, but the 330ci isnt that far behind, than the wrx third place. Its really a broad jump from a wrx to something german but its a very fun car. The benz goes to 60 in 7.1! but has expensive horsepower potential, like 325.

My 2 cents

What's up Player 1! I'm an IS300 owner. I'm going to give you the pros and cons on this car. I won't bash other cars(Like everyone else here)because I don't truly know those rides. Hope it helps you with your decision.

CONS
1) As a former Maxima driver, the IS300 is smaller. It's a subcompact--so if you usually roll with a few of your boys--it's gonna be cramped. Lexus says it seats 5, but believe me--It seats 3!

2) Fuel economy--Forget it! This car guzzles gas like crazy!

3) Stock horsepower. I6 engine with 215HP.

PROS
1) It's a Lexus! It's gonna retain more of it's resale value. Lexus customer service is tops in the industry. They'll take care of you everytime. The employees at Lexus take so much pride in their cars--Its impressive.

2) Aggressive looks! You're going to be complemented everywhere your go. This car is a trendsetter. Even Nissan is adding Altezza like lights on the 2002 Maximas. The interior is wicked! Soon, other manufacturers will imitatate the chronograph guages. You'll find people looking into your car everytime you park it.

3) SUPRA engine! You can easily supercharge the engine upto 500HP(If you got the cash). There's an abundance of aftermarket parts.

4) RELIABILITY-- A JD Powers report recently concluded Lexus was the most reliable car in the industry among all car manufactures.

5) HANDLING--This car's handling is awesome. The Hi Performance tires hug the road like no other I test drove. The car is so smooth. It's a lot of fun to drive and it's hard not to go less than 90 on the freeways.

6) MOST IMPORTANTLY--The honey's Love Lexus. I don't care what anybody thinks, but that big "L" on your ride makes a difference. When I drove my Maxima, nobody ever made a big deal about it--but roll up in a Lexus and women(not haters) respond differently. It says success.

Good luck with your purchase!

330 ci or the max. 330's are pretty fast but cramped. Lexus 3rd. I still associate the benz with old people.

IF $ isn't an issue, easy.. 330ci. It isn't low in the family like the MB230. IS300 handles well but a bit 'childish', and Civics try to look like it. Maxima is a good choice for that price range.
Altima is Canada's Motoring 2001 Family car of the year. Not so nice interior as you already know. WRX is fun if you like toy cars.
