My friend has a 94 GT Mustang 5.0L 5spd he is claiming it to be 290hp at wheels. But all he has is a Offroad H pipe and K&N filter. His car is fast and all. Also pretty loud with his offroad Hpipe. But would those two mods really give him that much power? He wants to race me but I'm not to sure about it.

While those two mods probably wouldn't result in that kind of power it IS very easy to get horsepower out of a Mustang. There are speed parts all over the place for those things. You see those things at the strip constantly - it's easy to get into the 10s with one of those.

btw, since your friend says he has 290 hp "to the wheels" ask him for a dyno slip because thats the only he would be able to find that out. and i would sure as hell like to know where he got all that hp out of a exhaust and air filter

Yeah I kinda figured he was just blowing smoke. What is the usual amount of HP a 5.0 usually pulls anyways? They are cool cars and I do see a crap load of them at the track. They are very easy to make fast as hell with just a few boltons. But all I see them for is for spinnin tires and loud noise.
I did race him last night. I think I hurt his feelings
From take off he had me at about a half of car length. By third gear I was dead even and started to pull. 4th gear I saw him tring hard to catch up in my rear view. And by 5th I just kept it going. HELL YEAH MY SECOND KILL! not bad considering I only raced my car 3 times since I bought it.

From take off he had me at about a half of car length. By third gear I was dead even and started to pull. 4th gear I saw him tring hard to catch up in my rear view. And by 5th I just kept it going. HELL YEAH MY SECOND KILL! not bad considering I only raced my car 3 times since I bought it.

nice kill man, teach those ford punks....until you run into one that REALLY has 290hp to the wheels

Dont' believe me.... go to http://www.dynorun.com and check it out. Pretty cool site, you can also add mods and see what kind of power you can get. With a Stage 2 (MAC CAI and MAC H-Pipe) it dynos at 213hp and 277 ft-lbs
