Poor and Racing

Or rather, racing and Poor.

I didn't know where else to post this, so I figured what about here.

I've not been to many races, but I am starting to get more into them. If anything, just to watch. I thought of a spiffy way to raise a source of "income." Rather, a way to pay for all the nifty things I want done to my car. The purpose of this post is to, more than anything, ask for opinion feedback on a question.

I own a hooptie van; It's nifty and all, but nothing like a street machine, or the like. I figured if i could put a small fryer or something in the back, hook it up with some other things (like a cooler or the like) and then go down to some of these races and sell Taco's, or some other inexpensive food item that most people like, and maybe earn a little profit on the side. The question is this; I'm not entirly sure how it would be taken if I went down and sold people food. I am thinking it has the potential for doing a great buisness, but I dunno. I've never seen anyone else sell food or the like at any of the nights I have been, so I figure that it might be warmly accepted, rather than having to leave and go the mile and a half down to the nearest shoplette. I'd like comments on this; I'm po'. ... Girlfriend and Car.. Damn, I'm broke.

You could be the only place setting N20 refills and hot dogs at the same time.

I'm sure many Maxima owners would buy N20 from you as well as your food (assuming it's edible). You might want to check with the track though about the food. They might want a cut of the money.

It would be a good idea but most some tracks have fast food for racers to buy. I would say sell food that tracks wouldn't already sell.

Lol he is talking about street racing...I personally wouldn't buy anything from someone in the back of a van, that's just me though. We always had a small group (5-8) of friends who went to Shari's afterwords...

yeah, thats what i thought he was talking bout. Um, by the time you get all setup it will be time to switch up spots. And the last thing people think about at street races is food. Plus, i would never buy food from some doods van at the races. God knows what could be in it! If you REALLY want to make money, i would say: get a job!

Maybe drinks or ice cream if its really hot. You can get a loudspeaker and play that annoying music so people know you're coming.
But seriously, I think drinks would be better then food.

Can you imagine tryin to close up your shop when the Po-Po come knockin Then you'll be the last one there and they'll bust you for operating a illegal business and no Dept of Health certification. Try selling Amway. Alot safer.

Go for it, but at least get a license for selli ng food, and check with the track, and that would be cool. Are you talking about rack races or at illegal street races?

Re: Poor and Racing

I'd buy food from you. Recently I have acquired a taste for dirt and bacteria infested food...

J/K

Really, it's a bad, bad, bad, idea... to many potential problems.

I have a Job. I am molding the Worlds future; I take care of Pre-K students in a curriculum based child care center.

I am talking about an illegal strip; I'd have a health liscense and proper facilities. Mostly it would be snack crap, but perhaps I could get something installed in my van. McDonalds is always hiring, though, I'd like to continue eating there without having to know what is put in their food.

I got this idea from the Taco trucks that run around feeding the poor, hungry people without a greencard whose job is to look like they're improving roads. They get allot of buisness and are everywere.

Thank you to those who gave constructive criticism and opinions. That type of input is far more useful than unintelligent quips and flippant remarks.

I'd love to get another job, though. Childcare (the third most stressful job in the country) pays only a little more than minimum wage, and while the kids are cool, 5.55 and hour isn't anything. I live in Harris County, right next to Houston. It has the highest Auto taxes in Texas.

Pah, rambling. Stupid people shouldn't breed. ... Damn my parents.
