I figured this out, had a revalation. Most of the issue for ignition control on a Maxima is related to the individual coil pack design. Why not just triger the individual coils two at a time. It would be like the wasted spark system but trigger two coils, one on the power stroke and one on the reversed phase strokes (what is it called in a 4 stroker?).

Triger 1&4, 2&5, 3&6 at the same time.

Provided that all the input controls can be tapped into and it looks like they can this is GREAT news! With a Haltech IG5 Ignition Control System we could get the ignition control we have all been looking for, and retain factory fuel deliver. Complete standalone for fuel and timing would be the ultimate choice but timing control is also worth some power!
