Why does every 4th gen I look at have offcolored bumpers?
#3
Why the front one matches and the rear doesn't, I have no idea.
Generally, when painting the flexible bumpers, the paint shop pulls the paint receipe and mixes a batch. They then add a flex agent to the batch which discolors the paint slightly. Some colors show more than others. For example, a clear coat shows comes through slightly yellowed.
If you have your car painted at a shop and it does not match have them paint it again. Any reputable shop should agree.
And be clear the the paint shop when you take in that you expect nothing less than it being a proper match.

Well, for some reason when I got my 97+ front and rear bumper, they painted both at the same time. I put them on and guess what, just as you stated the front bumper matches perfectly, but the rear doesn't. So I have no clue what is up with it, but its all good. Hopefully it will fade in the future when it gets warm and sunny out, so it might end up matching later. If I am lucky.

yep.. me too and I have seen numerous other 4th gen Maximas with tan interiors also mismatched passanger side air bag covers Mine is mismatched now because I swapped out my entire dashboard ( never will I do that again) but my stock one was pretty close.. the reason this one mismatches probably is because I got a dashboard from a 96, and put it in my 98, the freaking brown is a slightly different shade Nissan was definately smoking something when they were picking dye's and paints..
