cup holders

In the 5th generation the cup holders are perfect size! Does anyone else agree that the cup holders are perfect size for a larger beverage than just a 12 oz cola can?

Yes, the insert is great, and they're deep enough that stuff won't fall out. Glass Coke bottles have been a problem. Washed my shift boot in coke... But other than that, all good. They're also in a great spot. Out if the way.

No, they were the best, because they were an afterthought, and could hardly even be considered cup holders. The interior wasn't designed with dumb features such as cup holders in mind, as is the case with many Nissans. Nissan is too good for cup holders.

Anyone can have instant cup holders by buying an $10 aftermarket organizer that you throw on the floor.

I might have interpreted the OP wrong the first time, but while I don't think the 5th gen holders were the most amazing, anything is better than my friend's VW Golf 2000.

How is this even supposed to work? Not the exact same as in the picture, but pretty close.

I never had a 3rd generation I wouldn't know. But the back seats in the 5th generation have cup holders too and a charging port for passenger cell phones.

Yeah a lot of cars in the 90's had cupholder right above the radio or the a/c unit which was very dumb place, I remember I had a 97 Subie Legacy GT and it was above the radio and I had stick shift, when I forgot to put in neutral before starting the car, and it lurched forward and cause my coke splashed all over the radio button and ac unit, I had to get it cleaned and detailed the sticky coke.

The mk4 Golf/Jetta/GTI/Bora is just full of great interior design all around. Including the armrest that is 2 inches higher than the shift ****.

I like the 5th gen cup holders as well. My Accord's are good but not as deep my I35.

Absolute worst were the ones in my old Benz. They flipped out from underneath the driver and pass HVAC vents. Horrible location and no depth, so water bottles used to fall out when going over small bumps.

I had never had an issue with sodas, coffee, shakes, or whatever beverage. I cruise thru a drive through and the beverage goes right in the cup holder perfect every time.

I've had cars where the cup holders just are not functional.

I like the cup holders since they can hold everything my Mirages cup holders couldn't.

On the flip side, the holder is cracked in the bottom and I can see old French fries taunting me though the hole. >_
