I just bought a new leftover 2016 Maxima SV and had the usual experience of the salesperson telling me what a great car it was and the finance person telling me what a piece of junk it was so that I would buy the extended warranty. The thing that blew my mind was how darn expensive it was! The 8 year/75k Nissan factory warranty was more than $3000 and the Allstate alternative offered was ~$2600 (I was told that the Nissan factory warranty was underwritten by Allstate). I've seen people buying similar term Honda extended warranties online at half that cost, but didn't find similar info for Nissan. Has anyone done this with a Nissan, and do you have a reliable online resource that will give competitive quotes?
