I think black rims on a white max could look pretty good (they would contrast better), but WHITE rims on a BLACK max...not so appealing. But hey if that's what you like go ahead, it's all about havin your own style.

 

im amazed not a single person likes the look. i saw a black altima at home once with white rims and i liked it. thats the only black car with white rims ive ever seen though.

 

what kinda rims and size you have on ur 97? Im liking them and trying to picture them on a black 3rd...

anyway back to the topic in question; for ANY black car i always like chrome or alloy wheels...99% of white rims ive seen look too ricey

I love white rims on black cars! IMO it looks tight. I'm gettin white 18"s as soon as my bodykit is done. Peace.

I originally thought that it would be a bad match, but 2 of the cleanest cars I've ever seen were black with white rims. Both were sports cars (RX-7 and a MR-2) but it was very striking.
If you go to tirerack.com, you can see a Maxima with white Kosei K1 Racings or O.Z. F1 Racings (both are 6 spoke). I'm not sure if that's the best rim (I think a thick 5 spoke wheel would look very nice).
The AT Italia 5 Razze is a very bright silver and may give you a decent idea of a what a white 5 spoke wheel might look like

There's another post announcing a group deal on Rota Subzero and Slipstream wheels. If you follow a link in one of the posts, you'll be able to find a special buy on Slipstreams (available in white) for I think $100ea. The crazy part was that they said they weigh in at _13.5_ lbs. Yikes! They were 16x7 40mm offset on the site with the special, and the group deal had 45mm offset (but I don't know the size).

 

im about to put white rims on my black max, as soon as the rims come in! been waitin a month, should here any day now! gotta go pick up some T1S's to wrap em in tomorrow... anyways, i have some of my interior repainted white, and im gonna get my leather done with a small white stripe down the middle... its kind of the theme of my car, white and black, for the days when i feel like bein good, and the days when i feel like gettin into some trouble with the max! anyways, when the car is all done i think itll look nice!

 

White rims & black maxima....hmmmm sounds absolutly horrible!! Why? So you have to clean those things 4 time per week!? That's my $0.02 about rims on a black max or any other black car.(there has been execptions though.) have fun!

I think it looks nice. I mean it's not as if silver doesn't contrast black, might as well be white. I actually don't like the look of white on white, it's a little too plain IMO.

I wouldn't put white rims on a Max PERIOD. That's just me though...honestly, it wouldn't look that bad. Just make sure they're big, and as long as you like them.

From the pics I've seen so far it doesn't look as bad as I thought. It all boils down to personal preference. Do watcha like.

 

I think the white rims on a black 5th gen with clears would be tolerable. Other than that... there's too much attention to the rims. I'd rather have people looking at my car... not my wheels.

Has anyone seen those crazy rims that come on some MB AMG's? I saw one thats black... and has red shadowing the inside of it. Now if a black maxima were to put black rims with the white shadowing on the inside of it... wouldn't be too shabby at all.
