X Pipe
I have an 07 maxima with a stock exhaust and plan on adding a 5x8 18" Magnaflow replacing it with the resonator and deleting the mufflers and adding 4" quad tips. I have no clue how it will sound and wanted something deep and not raspy or much drone. I plan on keeping the single exhaust but was thinking after the y pipe going to both sides where the mufflers would be, I would add an x pipe hoping it would smooth out the sound even more. But would an x pipe do anything if I still have a single exhaust? Also, after the y pipe from factory, it looks like they went with 2.5" exhaust going to the mufflers, should I keep that different diameter after the y pipe or x pipe?
