I somehow managed to sit in some gum on the train (idiot), and now there is a big wad of gum on my seat. How do I get it off???

Carpet cleaner stuff from autozone. Alot of it breaks down stuff like that and get at it with a towel and water too. Water hardens up gum and makes it easier to remove.

ASSUMING you have cloth seats, take ice and set it on the area and then carefully pick at it with like a spatula or putty knife (same similiar shape) I would try this first as you start putting chemicals and stuff on your seats, you will risk fading, deteriation so on and so forth. Good luck, gum is a PITA to get out/off of anything!

Thanks for the help guys. I searched online, and found that vinegar apparently removes gum. I tried it, and it worked like a charm. So if anyone has a similar problem, use white vinegar.

wd-40 works well too. Just spray a little bit on a paper towel or napkin. Rub it into the gum and it'll dissolve. Then clean up with a towel with water.

Peanut butter breaks up gum. But then you have to clean up the PB...
