Firehawk SH30 ... good in snow???
Firehawk SH30 ... good in snow???
I'm thinking of going with these based on the very little I've found using the SEARCH function, and the specs at www.tirerack.com:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/firestone/fs_sh30.jsp
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...=Firehawk+SH30 (460 treadwear!!)
Anyone use these in the snow and care to comment? I don't auto-x or push the car *too* hard, but I like my spirited driving. Dunlop SP5000s came with the car when I got it used, but only lasted about 20k and I need more than that.
I'm in Pittsburgh and need good all-weather tires I can afford.
Thanks for your help, everyone.

Yes, they are very good in the snow. I could go from a dead stop on a 20% grade in fresh snow w/o slipping. I am very happy with them, just keep them inflated. The sidewalls aren't really stiff, especially without air pressure. Dry grip is good and wet grip is decent, but I spin easily taking off in rain.
