how to use jackstands??

I am planing on installing my springs, and I have a set of jackstands. I have no clue where I'm supposed to put them properly. I know this is a retarded question, but I don't want to be crushed by my car. Thanks

Save your money...

And get them installed proffesionally before you kill yourself. If you choose not to listen to me, then you can place the jackstands on the frame rail where there is a little indention. There is one of these behind each front tire and in front of each rear tire. I would find someone that could help you that knows what they are doing!!!!

It's not that I don't know what I am doing(or can't figure it out ), it's just that I never used jackstands before, and I wanted to make sure I use them properly.

My jackstands are flat where the car is supposed to rest on them. If I put them under the jack support line under the car, the car will be prone to sling off the stands. I need a flat, solid part of the car to rest on the jack stands. anyone??

Mb1: My advice is that you let a shop do the install >>

And wait for an easier project to attempt on your own...like changing the oil. Also, have someone show you IN PERSON how to use jackstands.

Ok, negative people......

....Changing your suspension is a do it yourselfer by far. If you got the money to waste on install then bless you. But for you mb1, place the stands on the sub rail, about 4-6inches from where the paint ends under side skirt. Its like a 3" wide by 2" or so frame like rail.

Haha,

, it is good to be shown in person though......go to chestons site- maximadriver.com, and look at the how2's and you'll see some pictures with the stands properly placed under the vehicle.

*You don't put them where the spare tire jack would go! They sould be well under the car.
