The odometer intermentently stops working in my friends 95 Max. Do you know what the deal is here? The speedo works fine it's just that the odometer just sits there.

Has anyone had this happen or know what it could be?

my friends 240sx had the problem, whenever u got on the highway or highway speeds odometer stopped functioning, on a 400 mile trip, his odometer moved 4 miles but when he drove in a city it was fine
he never fixed it, and traded the car in

 

how cool is that?Must be a gift from god to make up for out crappy trade in value.
