That's what the Place Racing motor mounts will solve, because the engine rocks on the soft stock ones. Check the homemade polyurethane thread (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=102080) Those don't feel bad, but you have to increase idle about 150-200 rpm. Also, read about the $.02 solution I posted on that same thread. That might be a good quick fix.

Let me guess, this is a Cattman pipe? No matter what, NOTHING should be hitting the underside of the car under WOT or under hard shifts. The pipe isn't fitting correctly.

My cattman pipe has never made any noises. I am willing to bet that the installer screwed up.

You can't really mess up the manifolds, so odds are its something with the y->cat connection. There is a bracket that holds the y-pipe up to the car if it is not connected to the cat. The bolts for the cat need to go through this to secure it to the exhaust...otherwise it can flop any which way it would like.

Make sure that support is secured.

I have the same thing. Someone told me that I should check out www.greghome.com and look under the Y pipe installation section to see what to do. I guess there is some kind of a hangar that needs to be bent up. I haven't checked it out and I have had the pipe for a year now.

Here it is. Find 4/12/2000, click on it, then choose Y pipe prototype #2. It explains what to do in the third picture and paragraph from the bottom.

Strange...I've installed a few y-pipes now, and I've never bent that piece and I've never heard a rattle.

I don't think you should have to do this if everything is done correctly.

Some of the Cattmans don't fit perfect. A little modification of your undercarriage may be needed. Or send it back to Cattman and request another unit.

I had the same issue with my WSP Y-pipe. Just bend the bracket around the Y-pipe/Cat section and it should fix the problem.

Warpspeed even mentions it on their website:
http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/install.htm

Look at the underlined paragraph

My Cattman SS pipe hit the frame. I had to grind away a bit to get it to stop. Also, the O2 sensor was in a bad position. I sent him that information and I'm pretty sure they relocated it to a better one after that. There are variations between any 2 vehicles, and the same with parts. Tolerances aren't perfect and sometimes things just don't quite fit right. For instance, I've heard other people besides me have had problems with their PR engine mount fitment. I sent my stock front one to them so they can check their measurements.

I've noticed with a few mods that once the ECU gets used to it the car seems more normal. When I added a cone intake it was really loud, but after awhile the car just droned. Same with the PR mounts (though I don't think the ECU has anything to do with those) but the car settles into its new configuration.

Once I got mine fitted right (a few hours extra work) it's been fine and trouble free.

Are there any fitting problems with the Stillen one? I have heard that they just rust within a year or so.
