modifing maxspeed springs?

wondering if it is a good idea or if anyone has cut there aftermarket springs for a lower drop. I have maxspeeds and the drop is good, but not as low as I would like. Can I cut them, and if so where?

str8ridin cut 2 coils off his Eibachs. He said it's harsh, but rides like it's on rails. Sounds a bit like my coilovers ...

yes ivolley cut the back springs. its hard to say how much it dropped the car more than stock maxspeeds cause i never seen maxspeeds on max. but right now he has about two finger gap in the back with factory 16s. later on i think he is going to chop a coil off of the front also.

I just installed the maxspeed's on my 5th gen. and I did not cut them. I have a 2 finger gap in the rear and a little more than 2 in the front.

my boy Dave cut my H&R's to make the car sit about 1/2" lower all around. The ride is EXACTLY the same as it was before, if not smoother for some odd reason. He took off a coil and a 1/2 front and rear. Now i have a 2-finger wheel gap front/rear

goodluck!

Thanx for all the help. I am going to cut the fronts one whole coil and the back 1.5 coils.
Question though:
Which end do you cut? The tightly coiled end or the spaced coil ends?
thanx

The closer ones as they would affect height and not spring tension.
