my Maxima! Did you think I was going to say it was the other way around? These are nice little cars I must say, and Ive never really been a real Honda fan. Anyhow, these ramped SIs here is what caused me to mod the Maxima. Stock I would get toasted all the time, and quite frankly if became embarrassing verses these civics for crying out loud.

Recently after the CAI and the rest of my mods in my sig, most SIs I dont have to brake much of a sweat over any more. I assume these have been stock to moderately modified (Intake, exhaust) from what I can tell visually or hear. Most have been pretty cool people giving me thumbs up to the victory.

Soon as I thought it was getting too easy, I was taught a lesson yesterday. It was pretty close but I lost twice from the light. From a roll, I can pull on him. Properly driven, these are fast little cars.

Anyhow, his hood was slightly propped open, and I dont know if that was due to some kind of makeshift intake?

I just did a tune up covering everything for the 60k today. Changing the fuel filer seemed to do a lot for performance and the car starts right up now, I dont think it was ever changed. Im hoping with that Tranny VB mod and cooler will be enough to give me the advantage again.

Also, extrude honing your intake according to Stillen is 10Hp? I wonder who will do it however and how much, Ill call and ask Stillen.

Its not just about beating this car, (I could always get in my 355 ci 5.7) and blast the doors off, but its quite impressive for a underpowered and much smaller engine car when compared to the Maxima.

I did not get a perfect start on both runs. I would say a good 2 car lenghts none the less though. I would start to gain fast by 75MPH where he would stop, which is fair by me. So in the 1/4 we'd be about the same or the Maxima slightly ahead by just a few tenths.

Like I said, most SI's are no problem. This one was not stock, but no excuses as it is a 4cycl. civic, and I don't think it had any forced induction. I don't even have much problems with preludes!

I noticed the maximas in automatic form don't get "fast" before 3k on the RPM. O hope some tranny mods will help me out. Any comments on more bolt-ons or mods?

http://www.maximadriver.com go to the UPRD ECU info section. I will be getting it soon. We need 10 or less people now(not sure what number we are on) to get it for the cheapest price of 425.

friend of mine has a SI S/C and I kill him every time at the light. my car is a stick so I'm sure that helps. he can never pull up to me, always about 2-4 cars behind.

No, and for the third time, most of them are in fact easy. This one was moded, and I'm sure my stink'n auto didn't help

It would have been closer if I didn't take off right after he did. I'm not sure yet wat is the best way to launch this automatic?

Launch?

put OD off
power break...put it in 1st gear and hold break and hold rpm at umm say 1000+, BUT do not do it for too long
bring it up to 2000 something gently but fast then floor it
shift to 2nd when you are at 5800 RPM so you do not red line
then shift to D at the same RPM
I think...
if I remember correctly...the peak torque curve is at 4.5K
and the peak HP is at 5.5K
so...umm...probably wanna shift at 5K something...
anyway...anyone can correct me on these...I dun remember much...

Yes, there is a core exchange for the VB mod, and no I have never noticed any benefit in ETs at the track from having O/D off.

Don's took of .6 of a sec. and others have seen .4 so it makes us more competitive with those d@mn 5spd (oh-I wish)
