NYC and other big city 2K2 Max owners, beware....
I have already seen a few 2002 Maxima's with robbed headlights(w/HID). The disturbing thing is it was done clean, as opposed to the TL Acura's where they sometimes bend the fenders or rip off the bumper. Be very careful as to where you park. Same goes for all 97+ SE owners regarding your stock 16' wheels, get locks if you dont have them already.

I wonder why they do it cleanly? Maybe it's just easy enough that way or that the 2002 Maxs have bumper and fender sensors for the alarm.

No what I'm asking is why they don't smash the car. You can get the headlights out easier by ripping off the fender and bumper on most cars, and the headlight will still be in perfect shape but the car is left trashed. It's much better for the victim if the criminal does not smash the car because $1000 for headlights isn't bad but $1000 for body repairs/repaint + headlights is alot worse. I don't see why they are being so "nice"...

The main thing about the HIDs are the ballasts, on TLs and I'm ossuming on 2k2 Maximas, they are located right by the headlight, or behind the housing... if you just snap the lens off, you can get behind it and take out the ballasts. They are robbing the HIDs only, nothing else...
It's too much hassle and commotion to crack the fender, or bumper or pry the hood to get to them..
