Well, the "vanes" in the vented disc brakes will tend to hold their structure better since they aren't having a tendency to rust. Theoretically, that translates into longer disc life, ESPECIALLY when you have the rotors "turned".
Unfortunately, I'm only aware of x-drilled/slotted rotors that have a zinc or nickel or cadmium plating. Blank rotors from vendors don't come this way for Maximas. If you have seen Toyotas and Volvos in the past year or two, all of their vehicles are going with such a plating on their stock rotors, probably to maximize longevity to outside of the warranty period. But that is pure speculation.
In addition, it won't be an issue to disassemble your rotor if need be or when you are doing something that requires you to take off your wheel since the hub won't rust itself to the back of your wheel.
