The new GTP jumps ahead of the Maxima!

It's the little things that make a big difference. I had a Grand Am, and when the serpentine belts broke 1 time, it overheated b/c the damn water pump is run by them. Nissan put it on the timing chain, so even when the blets fall off, she still limps home okay and keeps her cool, the Grand Am didn't do that for me, and the Grand Prix is set up the same way. Plus their NA 3.8L only puts out 200hp, we have .8 less liters and put out approx. the same. They need to s/c their engines to be competetive.

3300 lbs + 5.7 litres + slower in every test than an M5 = PATHETIC!!!
I don't care how much it costs, you are still going to get Grand Am quality interior and cheap looking GM asthetics.
That car will never compare to any M BMW let alone the M5! And yes the new M5 will be a 5 litre V10 pushing 500HP. GM will always be a step if not 5 steps behind because they don't have to offer competitive products to make sick profit.
Good day

Wrong- "(C5) slower in every test than an M5". One magazine tested both and the M5 won (yes, it was imbarrasing), and it did the one test you are referring to, against a poorly driven slower than average C5 that still ran trap times about 2+mph faster than the M5... the M5 was was around one-tenth of second faster in that test if I remember correctly and it was the fastest time a mag has ever gotten out of a M5. If you look at just about every other magazine the C5 normally stacks up well, and has been tested in some publications and by many owners to be able to run into the high 12s stock, which is faster than most of the times I've seen out of M5s. So maybe the M5 is close, or even equal in one test, it still costs $30k more than what you would pay for C5. A C5 with a $50-230 COI will run 12.5-12.7, which if I remeber correctly is faster than the $120k+ BMW Z8. Not to even mention that a Z06 version will easly spank a M5 or Z8 for much less $$ too. Yeck...you know how many LS1 Fbodies are faster than times the M5 puts down with only a few cheap and free mods.
