correct..but the old hotrodders can run really rich so the spark plug can ignite the mixture for the flames. how are you going to do that on a FI car?Originally posted by OriginalMadMax

Maybe I'm missing something, but don't you also need some unburnt fuel to get past the catalytic convertor in order for this to work (ie: no cat and a rich running engine) ?

To do it on other cars I have seen them remove the cat and replace it with a test pipe to do this. Not sure if it would work in a maxima though.Originally posted by Stereodude

In order to get that much fuel for a sparkplug to ignite anything, you would have to ruin your cat and disable your O2 sensor.

Just unplugging it would work?Originally posted by Jeff92se

Worried you won't have enough fuel for a flamethrower? Heck, put it in the fuel filler tank and have a fireball instead! Just like the car going vertical in F&F

My car probably can do it. I have a test pipe. I can run really rich by armimg my nitrous system but keep the nitrous bottle close.

I think the stand alone fuel management systems have a mode where they will only fire half as often as they're supposed to. This allows unburnt fuel to be passed down the exhaust (that can then be ignited). However as I previously mentioned no Cats.Originally posted by Jeff92se
