FINALLY!!! I'm a 6 speed driver now!!!

YES!!!

I drove home a 2k2 gray lustre 6spd with Frost leather interior. No HLSD's in my area however, the ones that did were bloated with NAV and were not in my color choice. It's ok though, I LOVE THIS CAR. I'm going to keep it for at least 5 years if I can help it. Maybe someday I'll put in an aftermarket LSD. Best thing is, I have a garage full of mods ready to go in after I break it in.

I'm going to enjoy it unmodded for a while though, I love the ride, the quietness. The quality of the leather is much better than on my old maxima. Loving the HID's, the steering wheel controls, 6 cd changer in-dash... i could go on hehe

Pics to come soon =)

Edit: I think i'm going to sleep in it tonight.

For the money you spend on that damn family car you coulda gotten yourself a used 2001 Ford Lightning or SVT cobra. Both have 2 of the best sounding engines ever, with over 150 pound feet more torque and RWD. Not to mention they are eye catchers beyond belief. Just think what they could sound like with some flowmasters..

But instead you got a Front wheel drive 4-door. If you want a fast car you shoulda gotten one with some REAL muscle

Just playin, I am going through denial and jealousy of friends w/their awesome rides

aiyo another car that is as fast as non SC'd 4th gen 5spds

I'd never buy a Lightning nor a Mustang Cobra... and for 26Gs I dont think the lighting nor the Cobra is close to that

You can score a new Lightning for about 27-28K if you have the Xplan. The only prob is not too many dealers honor the Xplan.

To keep this on topic, congrats on the 2k2! I am finally going back to stick again myself.

Craig: LOL but I have three things to say...

2. I hate domestics
3. Handling

Yea but have you SEEN this one??

2. I hate domestics
You know, they do make the most torque by far out of any country..and their engines are bigger therefore have less strain on them than the little Japanese motors

3. Handling
Well I know the Mustang GT (2002) got a 8/10 in the handling department, so I'm sure the Cobra handles very well. And the 50/50 weight distribution, and the max's damn FWD makes it 61/39. And let's not forgot our multi-beam-linked friend back there

Just playin...I do love Maxima's and they are the ultimate sleeper IMHO, but I LOVE those muscle cars and trucks as well..

hmmm I know everyone will disagree with me... but I think the lightning is ugly... it looks way too fat... give me a Supercharged Silverado or something

and the Mustang handles well but its got no room inside... so the Maxima is the practical choice... plus I dont think I'd wana be the one paying insurance on a Mustang GT or a Lightning

reliability... quality... refinement... = Maxima

now that said... next to my Maxima I'd love to own a Domestic Corvette or Camaro SS

have you tried to take a turn in a mustang lately? =P

It's like telling a fat guy to jump out of your canoe..

J/K Of course, I know the cobra handles well, and would smoke my ***, but I kinda like my leather, sunroof, 6 cd changer, quiet ride, build quality etc.. Oh, not to mention the cobra's price tag.

now, I don't know how I would feel taking an SVT lightning to willow springs...kinda scary huh?

Oh and our rear beam suspension? If you take a look under most fixed up civics and integras with their independent suspensions, you'll see what? a rear tie bar. This effectively makes their rear suspension behave as a single unit, reducing camber fluctuations during hard cornering. Sound familiar? Add a rear sway bar and maximas handle just fine IMO.

I'm happy with the maxima, it's just the right combination of sportiness, utility, luxury and most importantly reliability for me. All for a great price. After driving the maxima, my mom regretted having spent 40,000 for an ES300 years ago. The max was twice the car for half the price.

Those Ford trucks!

Believe it or not, but it will be a very close race (0-60) between a Ford Lightning & a 2k2 Max 6-Speed. No offense but maybe with mods, the truck might just win.

Those trucks have so much power... ughh!!! It's nothing to laugh about. hehe!

the lightning would smoke the Max until 100 plus

but if you want a fast truck get a GMC Syclone! 0-60 in 4.9 or less
