Anyone else find that the 4th gen Max is extremely consistent at the track?

It's almost rediculous how consistent my 4th gen Maxima is at the track. Last night I ran 4 times and this is what I got:
14.73@95.5mph with a 2.29 60'
14.71@96.4mph with a 2.30 60'
14.76@96.4mph with a 2.34 60'
14.79@95.8mph with a 2.28 60'
Everytime I've ran this year (~25 passes), I'm always within .1 of a second of my other runs for the day. Anyone else notice their 4th gen Maxima doing the same thing? If I could get my reaction times into the .5XX range (consistently in the .6XX range), I'd probably be unbeatable in bracket racing.

My maxima was pretty consistant like that. I know when I had my CAI and hot lapped it, my ET's were always 16.8x-16.9s @ 80mph. Once I let the car cool down it ran a nice 16.7 @ 81mph. My Se-r isnt' so consistant because I can't drive it the same consistantly

Dave,
Can you comment on my runs last night? I went for the first time ever and got 10 runs in. I have a '95 SE 5-speed loaded w/ all options and with intake and y-pipe only. I ran 15.33 as my best, 15.60 as my worst. I was having difficulty judging the launch, but like one 60 foot time was 2.27 and I ended up with a 15.43! It's like I slow down after second gear or something...because my best trap speed was 90.65, usually it was in the 89's. It was a cool clear night, I lowered my front tire pressure to 25, took out the spare, only had a quarter tank...I'm lost. My car does have 137K on it. I raced an old Mustang GT and beat him in time by a tenth, but his trap speed was over 2 mph faster. I feel like my top end is gone. I didn't shift to 4th much because the speed didn't justify it I thought. It probably is pretty dirty internally, but I had the major service including spark plugs done about 20K ago. Any ideas on a simple fix, or do I just have a slow car?

I think it's due to your skills as a driver than anything.

1) What were the conditions like? temp, humidity, elevation
2) Stock wheels or plus size aftermarket wheels?
3) Shift rpms? You should be shifting the 1-2 6500, 2-3 6300, 3-4 6000 regardless of where you are in the track.
4) Are you possibly letting off before the end of the track?
Some of the quicker 4th gens in this Org have well over 100K miles so I don't think you mileage is a problem. I think you just need to get use to your car. Your 2.27 60' is pretty decent. My first time out dragging my car, I was running consistent 15.6s@90mph with 2.4 60 foots. I had an intake, y-pipe, and muffler plus some slightly heavy 17s at the time. A year later, I'm now consistently getting 14.7s@96mph with 2.3 60 foots (still bad). The only thing that's changed is that I got UDP, B-pipe, and some lighter 16s. There's no way those three mods dropped my ET by 1 second and added 6mph. Instead, I think my driving has improved significantly.

The temp was in the upper 40's, clear, medium humidity, and 185 ft. above sea level. My shift points are about right where you said, except I'm usually not shifting to 4th, because at 6000 rpm, I'm only doing right about my trap speed--unless my speedometer is off. My wheels are the stock 15-inchers. I suppose it is possible that I let off too early, but I don't think I did that consistently at least, as I usually ran it up to an indicated 95, and my traps were never above 90.65. That does give me hope, though. Question for you. Do you have the JWT ECU, and if not, why not? Most people seem to think it adds an easy 12-15 hp. Stillen says they don't really help on 4th gens, because the ECU is already pretty much optimized. I could go for a UDP and B-pipe, I suppose. And what do you do with your tires as far as air pressure, and how do you launch yours? Thanks for your help.
