Firestone Affinity LH30

Alright, I know there are a million threads on tires, but I need new tires on my 94 GXE. Does anyone have a set of Firestone Affinity LH30 tires on their max? The guys at Tires Plus are telling me they are way better then the Dunlop SP Sport A2 or the Bridgestone Potenza RE950. What's your take?
Also, is 60 bucks a tires and 10 bucks a tire mounting/balance a good price for those of you who have got this tire? Thanks

I think Firestone has very good tires.I had some and loved them and would like to have some more.In Nov 2001 issue of consumer reprt they had a story on tires and the Affinity had a very bad rating for snoe traction and fair in ice braking.if you can go with Firestone SH30 or GTA both are very good good luck

i work at a tire shop and 98% of firestone's customers come to us complaining of bad service and most of their tires have had problems with the beads wearing away fast. firestone=crap

98% of how many customers? are all your customers owners of Explorers? which tire shop do you work at? Tires plus isnt a tire manufacter, they are only a tire retailer...they most likely would only know the products they carry.

i work at Firestone but im not defending them, i dont like the company, but the tires are really good. They also make SO-2, SO-3, RE730, RE950, SZ50, Dueler HL, Blizzak, and many other good tires. you can check unbiased reviews on these tires to give you a good idea how they perform. They also provide tires for Racing. Sure theres some bad tires, every manfuacter has bad tires, but that doesnt mena the whole company sucks.

Potenzas are Bridgestone. Aren't Firestone and Bridgestone the same company these days? Oh, I got one of those lifetime alignment deals at Firestone. I go in there every time I adjust my coilovers (it seems like 4-5 times a year). They know me by name now, and take good care of me and my car.

yes Bridgestone and Firestone are the same company. Lifetime alignment is worth it if you plan to keep the car for awhile. We also offer lifetime brakes, lifetime balancing, and road hazard.
