14.0@102mph WTF?!?!

ok...little disclaimer here...so I don't get flamed....the track conditions were total cr@p tonight....I usually pull very consistant 2.2-2.25 60' times....tonight my BEST 60' time was 2.4...

anyway...to the good stuff....I took my 100-shot to the track for the first time....previous best was 14.0@99 with a 50-shot and a 2.24 60'

handicaps....I was running my STOCK y-pipe tonight becuase my cattman y-pipe has the infamous "broken flex"....rendering it completely useless...so my car has NO TOP END....I also haven't tuned my 100-shot...so it's running REALLY rich....and to top it all off....I'm running stock suspension

my BEST of three runs tonight was 14.0 (DAMMIT!!!!!) @102 with a 2.4 60'

I like the 102mph trap....but the 14.0 with a 100-shot just won't do....plus my 1/8 time was 9.2 whereas my 1/8 miles BEFORE with only my 50-shot were 9.0.....that means there was spinning going on AFTER the first 60'.....and I WASN'T spraying out of the hole....I didn't turn the juice on until second gear.....

oh well...maybe next time I will FINALLY hit 13s.....

Maybe your car is physically incapable of running 13s. You've run 14.0 on 3 different shots now on 3 different occasions.

If I can perfect my launch, I'm pretty sure I can get a 14 flat out of my stock 2K2 6 speed. Look at my 99mph trap speed, that should be 14 flat.

Later Mr. wah wah 14's while the rest of the world is at 15s. Well you can kiss my rear AE end. Oh by the way, is the meet on the 20th at Uno's in schaumburg, or somewhere else.

it's all in the 60ft...it just looks like you've got no traction...traction = better 60fts = more accurate time for you in relation to your trap speed

I was wondering that too, and what jet combo are you using (if it's NOS) to get the 100 shot. I just called the NOS tech line yesterday and you would of thought I was cussing the guys mother out or running the N2O in his car. He said it was not possible to run a 100 in a max because it would blow the engine since there is no way to NOT run lean eventhough I explained to him I have a Walbro 255 pump and going to install an aftermarket FPR BEFORE I attempt the 100 shot. Can you help, that guy just refused to tell me the combo. Thanks.

Yup, and with a 110mph trap I should be mid 12's.

It is what it is!

I feel your pain.

Get some slicks.

well...the completely horrible traction last night was due to track conditions...even guys with slicks were complaining about hooking up....I could usually pull a 2.2 60ft which would have put me well into the 13s....

.069 to .071 fuel jet.. it varies.. you have to watch your fuel pressure gauge and keep going higher jets till your fuel pressure drops down.. each car will be different

HaHa..14.0 isnt nothing to be ashamed of. You should dyno tune your NOS to make sure its running at maximum effeciency.

Seems like everytime you go to GL Dragaway, you have traction problems Brian. Take it to Rt.66 and see what you can do You saw how well my car hooked up last summer. My whole exhaust system looked like it was gonna touch the ground You get more runs and Rt.66 is much nicer. The only advantage to Great Lakes is the abundance of rice.
Adam needs to work on those 60' times, 2.6 is pretty bad. Ive seen quite a few autos pull 2.2-2.3 60's. If Adam were to pull that he would be right around 15.1-15.2. I am sure he will gain 1 mph with the UDP he is getting.

Correct me if im wrong....... .1 off the 60' equates to .2 off your 1/4 time???

You need LSD! Maybe the disk type for $299 that was posted here yesterday, if you can't afford the Quaife.

You must be talking about a wet system. I have a dry set up in my car. If not, are you saying a .069 to .071 main jet?

Something definitely isn't right. IIRC, Synki also ran a 14.0 with a 100 shot of NOS. However, he's an automatic. Plus, I think he could have done better if he had better traction. So a 5spd Maxima with a 100 shot of NOS should be even faster.

.047 NOS, and fuel will vary on your car, but you want to run around 85 psi... usually between a .055 and .073

Yep.

Welcome to the club of not hitting 13's.

I ran 100+ mph trap speeds in my auto w/ 2.3 60fts.

I know traction was a HUGE issure for me when i dragged my Max, plus it would have been nice if i had a catback and a few other mods at the time.

but I ran 14.0 with a stock y-pipe, un-tuned NOS, a HORRIBLE 60ft and a slower 1/8 mile that when I had my 50-shot and ran 14.0...that's got to tell you something...

Yeah, exactly my point. You should be well into the 13s with the 100 shot.

Maybe you should go back to NA and sell me your NOS kit. j/k
