Does the Nissan OEM oil filter fit for ALL maxima years?

Not sure that it does... I think in a post earlier this week (on Mobil 1 vs Royal Purple or something) someone mentioned that he had a VE or VG instead of a VQ (or someting like that) and they gave him the wrong filter at first.
