Sylvania Silverstars installed: impressions and advice.......
Ok, I went to autozone and bought them: 24.95 each. Cool blues were on sale 2 for $20 when I bought them when they first came out.
I put one in to compare it to the CB. They are slightly whiter than the CB. Not by a lot. You can kind of tell but it won't stop you dead in your tracks. On the flip side, it is indeed whiter so basically its the whitest halogen out there thats NOT an overwattage blub. Online they list the 9004 as 50/70 which is over by 5 watts, but i'm talking about the 80/100 kind. Again, its probably the whitest halogen in the 45w range.
Advice:
1. You have a regular old bulb in there. Skip the CB and go for the silverstar. The difference will be noticable. Bite the bullet and pay for the silverstar over the CB.
2. You have the CB now. DO NOT BUY THESE. You will spend 50 bucks to eek out a tiny bit more light and a little whiter.
To summarize, if you have cool blues or bluevisions don't waste your money until they burn out!

I feel that noting to all stand point, going to the silverstars is ok. People spend 80 bucks on the PIAA's and they look the exact same next to the CB's. 50 isn't that bad. However, if you spend the 50 after already having the cb's then you need to be shot. In my case, i should be dead soon.

I guess your right in regards to the price of Silverstars compared to the "ricer" Xenon bulbs and the PIAA's.
I paid 60 bucks for those Xenon look bulbs and sold them within a 2 week period. I couldn't even see at night.
