Where can I get the black goo that is used for sealing the taillights????

What is that stuff called? Where can I buy it?

Don't ask what I need it for... My taillights will be taken out a few more times and I already got a lot of the goo off from the 2 attempts I had trying to do my clear my tails.. I don't want water in there and in case of anything, I'd like to have access to that stuff, plus if it's cheap and easy to find, why not get some.. just in case.

Anyone know what it is?
Where can I get it?

What else can I use as a substitute to seal the taillights to the body, sillicone maybe?

thanks.

It's just that....black silicone. It comes in a roll, and you have to heat is up a bit. You can also buy the squeezable kind at any hardware store. Just make sure to get the weatherproof variety and you are good to go. You're right, that stuff is messy.....and I won't ask what you need it for...

To bond the two halves (lens and housing) together. The black stuff you are looking for is an adhesive, softened with heat. The typical silicone sealant is not an adhesive, merely a environmental seal.

Talk to someone in the body work business, they'll know what to buy.
