First Race EVER

I'm heading home and there's a 330i in front of me. We turn onto an empty stretch of 4-lane, he's in front of me and he starts to pull away. I pass him and pull up to the red light and he still has given no indication of wanting to play. Well, the light turns and after about 1 second we both go. Even though I still suck at this, I had him by 1/2 a car the whole way to 80 then pulled back due to the upcoming light. Gotta work on those shifts. I had a HUGE grin on my face. The crappy part was no neighbors were home to tell about it! Telling the wife is not a smart option

Ahh.....sigh......to bad nobody will belive you. I do though.

Gee....how can a car with 255hp and possibly more than the rated 246ft-lbs of torque beat a lesser powered BMW? Nawh....the BMW wasn't trying.

HP and TQ aren't the only important numbers. Auto/stick is. Weight is. #passengers (more weight)

If you have a 255hp 246tq BMW that is Auto and weighs 3500lbs (estimate) compared to a Max that has 190hp 205tq and is stick and weighs 3100 then that's a close match.

Autos have more driveline losses than sticks, by about 10%

ISTR RWD has more driveline losses (that 90deg turn in the rear diff has more drag than the chain-drive), also by about 5-10% as I recall.

Still, it's a close race. If the BM was stick the driver sucks.

Yup, 255 hp, big, heavy driver, golf clubs, two baby seats and admittedly suspect skills. He was trying. Love that Max.
