Need LEGAL Advice!?
Jesse White (Secretary of State IL) is trying to take away my driving privilages for 3 months time starting on the 15th of this month .. I received a notice on Wed saying that since I am under the age of 21, and have gotten two tickets in a two year period that they can take my DL away for 3 months.. The thing that makes it so bad is that one of them was way back in April of 2000 (no turn signal) and the last one was in Jan of 2002 (10 over).. Darn near 2 years apart.. And what makes it even worse is, when I was pulled over in Jan the officer said that I had nothing on my record, and to only go to driving school if i had time, work permitting (basically saying it was not ness).. So being that I work full time, I figuered I would just pay the ticket and have it taken care of.. But now I realize he was wrong and if I did go to school, it would drop that second ticket, and I would have nothing to worry about.. I am trying to figuere out if they can reopen my case, so I can reapply for school, or even at worse get something so that I can make it to work to pay for my new MAX.. but I still wouldnt get to cruise it at night time ( and i am sure you all would agree nothing beats taking the MAX out on a late SAT or FRI night) ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEA from some of you who might have been in my position PLEASE help me out.. Its not like I was DUI it was illegal lane usage and 10 over.. HELP A GUY OUT.. ??

Funny name for Jesse White...if you've seen his picture.
So, The Man is sticking it to you. Charges sound bogus, but I say 3 months is not that long. Just don't do anything stupid if you drive, and three months will fly by.

chit - you could try finding an attorney. since i broker legal services i could hook you up with one and give you 25% discount off their normal hourly rate. btw, this is more than just a suspension. when your insurance company gets wind of this, omg, your premiums are going to be .

ICF: What kind of legal services do you broker?
If the site is still available you can look up the state statute in Lawworld.com. Some states are very strict on penalty compliance per the statute and some plea bargain on a first or even second offense.

Sounds like criminal caseloads then? I ask b/c I am a corp atty and they allow me to moonlight on the side (for which they provide me E&O insurance). I was interested in drafting contracts, will, etc... but no criminal law...

also, the attorneys we do refer clients to are under contract with us to give free wills and document review for them. it is a nice little perk we give our clients. however, the clients dont pay the attorneys directly, we do, so you ARE paid a retainer.
no promises, but i'll see what i can do for you, man.

Sounds good. The work I do on the side is usally dirt cheap. Around $50/hour b/c I have no overhead. Actually now that I think about it, I do a lot of legal work for a free dinner or case of beer (depending onthe client of course)
