Guys, I need some opinions...hopefully unbiased opinions...
From gauging interest in my mods, it looks like I'm gonna have to take a serious bath on the mods & "trade-in" value for my car. What would you do?
(a)Trade a perfectly good 1999 Maxima SE-L with over $3,000 in mods...172.6 wheel HP for a WRX.
Drop in stage 3 for WRX (approximately $3,300 installed) & enjoy 260 ALL-WHEEL HP!! A 12 second car
OR............
(b)Drop another $4,500 on the Max & get the SC, including clutch, gauges & 3.33" pulley. 270 front wheel HP. A 13 second car.
OR............
(c)Mods are an utter waste of money. Start some other hobby...
Whoa, over 3 year old Max $4500 could be 1/3 the entire value of the car. I don't know how old you are but if you have $4500 cash, get another $4500 and buy a 180,000 house (if you don't live in NYC, Boston, or San Fran). Payments may be on the high side, and you'll have PMI which s**** but the rates are still low. You may need 8 grand for closing but there are ways to deal with that too.

If your only gonna get a car, then definitely the WRX.

Yeah I know...
Someone told me that if you want the thrill of fast accelleration, go on some roller coaster at Six Flags... 50 bucks for all the G-forces you will ever need!

Here is a dyno comparing WRX (different stages) & Maxima's...

Granted WRX Stage IV is fastest, there are several other major compromises which I was not willing to make: ugly looks, weak tranny, small size, & tons of reliability issues.
Check out the "Warranty Issues & SOA Problems" forums...

Congrats on the supercharger. Did you install yourself or did a shop do it? What size pulley are you using? How about reliability? Can't wait for the dyno.

Let us know.

Why Thank You!
I had a professional performance shop do it...
I'm using 3.33" pulley - 8psi on the boost gauge!
Reliability...*keeping fingers crossed* so far so good!!!
I don't mean to sound like I am bragging...but seriously, I feel like the fastest vehicle on the road...nothing comes close :-)
Awaiting a fair race with a modded WRX! *yummy*
