cable tension ..gas pedal....
#1
ok...on top of the engine...there are two wires each connected to a disk/pulley...that if you move them, it will
do the same as pressing the gas pedal....
(ok..I dunno tech term for it)...I am gonna call the gas pedal wire...
so...anyhow...my GPW is lax...not tense....is this ok?...
I do not think it is ok....do any of you guys know how to 'fix' this tension problem?
I am due for some tuning at the dealer...do they include this in their service? anyhow, let me know...thanks
I'll browse the chilton while I am at it too...it is not much..but maybe I find something too...
thanks..

Have a friend fully depress the
gas pedal with the engine off.
Check under the hood that the TB is open all the way... if not then tighten the throttle cable to remove the extra slack...

just twist the bolts
just twist the bolts that clamp the cable to the bracket to tighten them...one of them is for the cruise control, the other your gas pedal. I tightened mine...it's a LOT more responsive...but be careful not to tighten it so much that it doesn't return all the way...or else your engine will rev w/out the gas being depressed.

here
the throttle cable needs to be tightened after a while..
here's how you know..
Without pressing on the pedal at all the wire should be just inside the half moon...
at the end of the half moon that's nearest to where the wire is coming from .. the wire should be just inside that area as it enter the half moon..
Dont't tighten it so it is tight against the half moon ..NO !!!
just so it's inside the half moon..
