JUST INSTALLED y-pipe today!! yay1!!!
i went to shop in plainfield, well scotch plains new jersey actually and they said it would take an hour, they welded it (said whole thing was cut and needed to be welded compared to guy i bought it from used said it only had one small cut) but he told me before he put in that it was illegal blah blah this, taking out a converter, blah blah that and i said i'm fine wit that and he charged me 75 without tax receipt and any recognition that he did it for me, that included install and welding....it was freaking raining today and i couldn't go past 3.5k rpm without crashing into guy in front of me but i could feel a drop in low end and haven't tested high end yet. I just got CAI installed yesterday and it gave this beautiful roar, i don't hear that strong roar anymore in low end but i tried flooring once and spinned out but i heard some ill sh*t....i can't wait for place to dry up so i can test out high end and see what my car can do....i should be at 210 to 215 hp now right?
just one problem.....when i floor it or 3/4 of the way floor it, i hear this little whistle sound....a little hiss u may say, not like bees in a can but just some sound...not too disturbing but wanted to know if bad welding may have done that or is that something that comes accompanied wit y-pipes? i have a used warspeed SS y-pipe, guy had it for 10 months.....
CONVERSION COMIN NEXT!!!!

210 to 215hp w/ a CAI and y? At the crank maybe....and that's a very generous estimate at that.
The shop that put on my y-pipe also did it 'under the table' like yours did. What are you talking about when you speak of 'cuts'? What cuts?
Remember to reset your ECU.

Hiss is normal. All intakes make that sound, the CAI sounds the best You should give it a week. Right now your ECU is just starting to get used to the new mods. A week later you will find that the CAI is not as loud as it used to be. This is fine. It means the car has adjusted to the new setup. As for that sounds when turning left, check out your FSTB.
