17x8 OZ Superleggera...what do you think?

I'm a bit short on cash. However, I still want some wheels. I'm running on the stock 15" SE wheels right now. It's not a pretty site.

I'm thinking of getting 17x8 OZ Superleggera paired with 235/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza S03's from TireRack.com, total is just under $2k.

I like the SSR GT1's and Competition's, but they are just a bit too pricey for me.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Go for it or not? Btw, even though it's just under $2k, I can't get them right now. Maybe have to wait a few months.

they are gorgeous but personally i would go for 18's i think 17's look to small on the max, i mean if your gonna drag and whatnot you can still use your 15's.

I would like 18s too, but combine that with the tires, just a bit too much for me.

As far as drag racing, of course I won't be using these. These are for everyday use. I might go with drag radials on my stock ones when I go to the track again.

Hehe, I like the Evos too. But I just got the Millie MM11-2 17x8 for $145 each. I like the Oz too, but IMO, its a bit too busy for me....

I say go for it. They're handsome, relatively inexpensive and in that size only weigh 15.4lbs!
I'll probably be going with those too

when i was looking for rims for my max the choice was between the competitions and the superlagerra's. both are lightweight and are different than what most people here are putting on their max's. i prefer the comp's but the oz's also look great.

My advice to you is to save up a little more and get the SSR Competitions. I have seen the Superlaggeras in 17" in real lie and they look a little too small. The Comps look better and are lighter.

I don't want heavy wheels, so the EVO's are out of the question. Plus, I don't think they look good anyway. The lighter, the better. My car isn't that fast anyway, so if I get heavy wheels, it would slow me down even more. Also, I used to have some really heavy 18s. So when taking them off/putting them on, it seem more like a workout...lol. No more of that for me.

I think the Superleggera's would look better on a darker colored Maxima. Mine is superblack. I seen the sample pic of the Superleggera's on a black BMW on Tirerack's site and they look tight.

Yes I would like to get 18s and yes I would like to get the Competition's, but like I said, I kind of on a budget.

I'm going to think about some more. It's not a definite that I'll get the Superleggera's.

Is there a place that specs all the different wheel/tire combination weights. How much do the 18x8's weigh?
Those OZ Superleggera's are great looking.

Do you have a Discount Tire near you? I bought the OZ Superleggeras
in 17x8 with 245/45/17 Nitto 555s for $1792 out the door. That price
included mount/balance/road warranty/tax/lugs etc. I just felt a
little better about being able to deal with any problems in person
instead of over the phone. So, I suggest buying from Discount so
you can have a more direct after-sale service strucutre if you need
to rely on it.

Also, total weight of tire and rim is just under 44lbs; 17.1 lbs. of
that is from the wheel. The 17x7 is only 15.2 lbs. I'm sure there
are lighter tires out there but I love these Nitto's. My stock SE
rims with Nitto NT450s in 225/50/16 weighed in at 40lbs each.

The above wheel weights are from OZ BOUTIQUE

Enjoy!

I didn't know Discount Tires carry Superleggera's.
